This is how you activate and release the suboccipital muscles at the top of the neck. To reduce muscle tension, strengthen the top of your neck, and take away some of your post-concussion symptoms.

This is amazing. I've been doing isometric exercises and bridges which seemed to work the bigger muscles but I could never really feel the occipitals. This one really nailed it!!

That’s marvellous! I’m glad you found it helpful. To take it to the next level, get a partner, sit in front of them, place their hands where the towel would go, and get them to resist your neck extension. That will help to target the sub-occipital muscles even more. If the muscles start to burn by the third rep, you’re doing it right!

Thanks for posting. I just started doing this two days ago hoping this will get rid of the one or two PSC symptoms that try to pop back up here and there. 🙏🏾🙌🏾

I’m glad you found this video! If you liked this one, I would recommend my other video for whiplash. Since every concussion consists of whiplash, strengthening the neck and gaining full neck range of motion is crucial for recovery.

Hey mate I appreciate the video. I'm wondering if i can start this exercise 4 days after a minor concussion? Or should a wait a week or two?
@drroryturner10602 ай бұрын
Hi, 4 days out from a minor concussion is more than enough time to start doing these exercises and stretches. Research tells us that 24-48 hours of rest is sufficient before getting back into doing activities and exercises in a controlled manner.

Hi Ahmad. No, that is not normal. Have you been assessed by a diversified chiropractor yet?

Same here! I also have head pressure. It’s like one of the vessels in the head keep pulsating nonstop! I have been suffering from this for 3 years now. I got a very strong hit in my head. But I discovered that this is related to neck! Even if the neck doesn’t hurt.

Headache gets worse after doing this..

Ya, that can happen in some cases. Perhaps, there is an underlying joint issue that needs to be addressed first.

There's a lot of people that have neck issues with cervical and stability that is pressing on jugular veins were these types of stretches are completely contraindicated these are not for everybody

Sorry you feel that way. I’d be happy to take a look at any research that supports your idea.
