Hi, 4 days out from a minor concussion is more than enough time to start doing these exercises and stretches. Research tells us that 24-48 hours of rest is sufficient before getting back into doing activities and exercises in a controlled manner.

I had a one sided neck injury and concussion about 3 months ago. while concussion symptoms are gone, my one sided neck injury has left me with visual symptoms.. ive been told its due to the muscle structures being damaged in the neck, therefore sending incorrect afferent information to my visual system. the symptom is weird.. when i turn my head to the right and look left, my field of vision does not stay level in my right eye. it drags downward. have you ever treated something like this? any tips? ive been very consistent with all sorts of neck strengthening.

I’ve had PCS for almost 3 months after an injury/moving my hip out of place while roller blading i thought it was back pain and couldn’t stand up straight to walk and waited almost two weeks in pain for my injury to heal and it did not. I eventually passed out from the pain hitting my head off the toilet and or floor resulting in post concussion syndrome. I was hopeless that I’d ever feel normal again. Every day was awful!!!!! The symptoms were scary and hard to live with. I finally Found a wonderful Doc in the US who had helped me greatly. Cranial movement therapy works. I’m still in recovery with two more sessions to go but definitely have seen huge improvements. There is hope!

That’s marvellous! I’m glad you found it helpful. To take it to the next level, get a partner, sit in front of them, place their hands where the towel would go, and get them to resist your neck extension. That will help to target the sub-occipital muscles even more. If the muscles start to burn by the third rep, you’re doing it right!

Great video, dealing with alot of these issues, had multiple concussions (or maybe just whiplash). Could you elaborate on proper sleeping position? I feel my neck pain is often worse in the morning until I get up and moving.
@drroryturner1060
@drroryturner1060 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching the video. Sorry to hear that you have had multiple injuries. The sleeping position hierarchy goes as fallows: best - on your back, 2nd best - on your side, worst - on your stomach. The pillow should support your neck and allow you to stay close to a neutral position. If you can keep your head from turning while sleeping, your less likely to turn over on your side or stomach. I often recommend using a U-shaped neck pillow and have the legs of the pillow point up to the top of the head to keep you from turning. If your waking up in the morning with neck pain, there can be a facet joint in the neck that is still restricted and should be treated.
@teezy94
@teezy94 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for reply, I will look into one of those pillows and try to sleep on my side or back more. I often find myself waking up on my stomach. As far as treatment now I’m seeing a chiro, massage, regularly. Doing adjustments, acupuncture and soft tissue massage. and physio working on neck strengthening exercises as well as some visual / neck rotation excises. I have some visual issues too. I also try to jog / brisk walk daily too. Things are improving a bit but very slowly. If you think of any other treatment that may be useful let me know.

I see that I came to the right place because I think I can help everyone as well because I have a ton of experience in this field of concussions because Ive had several. Here are some thing I think will help on the road to recovery. 1. See a Chiropractor and get adjusted he'll know what to do when you tell him you've has a concussion 2. Yoga, a great 30 minute to an hour session will really help you settle down 3. Message I can't tell you how awesome you will feel after. 4. Always try to wear sunglasses because exposure to light is one of the worst things for your eyes and the headaches will continue. 5. Go for a long walk, light exercise is great during concussion protocol and PCS. All of these are suggestions are to get you to relax because any kind of stress is terrible for a concussion. The best thing you can do for PCS is to ease your mind and these are a good place to start. Hope this helps Coach D.

Hey guys, I really feel you! I have been trying to heal my brain from a concussion for some years! In general I am doing loads better but I do still have flare ups! Flare ups make me feel depressed, frustrated, emotional! What has been helping me.. Microdosing with magic - mushroom chocolate has been helping me immensely! Sometimes when my brain feels so flared up, I eat a tiny piece of chocolate and my brain relaxes, immediate relief within one minute! Eating 1 tea spoon of flax oil a day helps with depression. Supplements, multivitamin, fish oil, 5htp, cbd. Exercise, dancing, shaking out the whole brain! Eliminate sugar for a while, sugar causes brain inflammation! Hydration, a tiny reduction is hydration can cause depression! I was becoming forgetful, I noticed it was coming from the left front side of my brain where the concussion was, so I started to learn an instrument and a language to retrain my brain! The brain really has an ability to heal! My memory is getting better.. Journaling helps me a lot! Meditation and self massage bring relief! All the best to you, feel free to reach out for more support 🙏👊🌞✨
