Fireturds all melt the plastic trap Tom , i've changed lots to the updated metal version. Yet to find a metal trap with any water in it due to the crap design of the boiler, hence the plastic ones melting....... Sooty cells and disintegrating boards on hx doors are other common things with these. I'm glad its Friday and due to rain over the weekend and clear the snow. We had 6" of snow last Sunday and it froze that night, its not got above freezing all week, stupidly busy with breakdowns and back lanes like a bobsleigh run......

Those firebirds don't seem the best boilers on the market, like you say the condense traps and hoses are rubbish, and the door seals always seem to leak, I'm pleased next week is looking a little bit warmer, this weeks been manic, I've not had one frozen condense yet though, which I'm more than amazed about.

dont hesitate getting the nerrad kit . i was the same as you tom on it but wow. also does more than taking taps off. been -14 up here in southern scotland so you can imagine the carnage. take care and heres hoping for a quiet christmas spell

I've been looking at it for a while, I might treat myself in the new year once I've got Christmas all paid for, the coldest I think it got to round here was minus six, I haven't been to one frozen condense which I was amazed about, thanks for watching mate 👍

You can get a fitting that goes inside the 15mm compression fitting with a 1-2 male thread the other side

On the showers I use a female back plate in the wall, you can extend this forward if needed by screwing in a female iron, I may have explained it in a confusing way in the video, thanks for watching 👍

Hi mate, it is a good bit of kit and does really come in handy, I used my Worcester points to buy it so in effect it didn't cost me a penny, you just need to fit a few boilers though to get enough points, thanks for watching as always mate 👍

Nice work Tom, is the rpz valve in place of a auto top up unit?, I’ve never seen one & I’ve mainly done commercial work, are the plastic pipe cutter’s worth getting?

Hi mate, the rpz valve is instead of a micro fill, rpz valves are good for fluid cat 4 which commercial heating systems are categorised as, they just need checking once a year, the cutter is Ok for the price, I was hoping it would cut the plastic center of boiler flues but the plastic is to thick, it cuts waste pipework up to 2 inch really well though, and is good in tight spots, thanks for watching as always mate 👍
