I made a red, white and black quilt that was 7 squares by 9 rows. Since I was making it for a little girl, I added a border made of Minnie Mouse fabric from my left overs. It turned out better than I expected.

A good thing about watching KZbin quilters is that you see things you wouldn’t have thought of on your own. This is a Rail Fence I never would have come up with and I think it’s really cool! I make QOV’s so I have lots of RWB fabric that would make up great like this. Thanks for this idea!

Placemats are fun to make with extra blocks or pieces. Our quilt guild donates between 150-200 place each year to Meals on Wheels. Over the years we have donated a little over 1, placemats. The placemats are delivered in early December to be delivered with a food delivery. They bring such joy both from the maker but more so to the recipe to. Love your “get rid of 2.5” strips series.

I was just saying, I always forget how nicely gold goes with purple. I mused to my partner that I might need to do a purple and gray with gold accent project - and they reminded me that purple and gold are the local university colors, which I couldn't give two cents about. I wouldn't want to have others see my quilt and assume I'm a big college sports fan, or something! All silly, of course. Love this series!
