I purchased the Velvor as well after using the wheel at your September workshop. For the price, it works just fine as a second wheel. I too, used some duct tape on the electrical socket & taped the pan so it wouldn’t slip around. Thanks for your review. I had the same issues. Really enjoyed and learned a lot at your keep practicing workshop. Thanks for all the great in person tips! Been busy practicing 😊

I have a similar cheap one (£103 from amazon) without vevor written on the side, with the solid body and I think it's more stable and has a much sturdier and longer pan (it's the one bottom right in the manual, timestamp 7.08) I originally was gonna get the one you showed but I'm glad got the other one now! It also needs risers but other than that is perfect for a beginner. I love how compact it is as I throw in a corner of our conservatory! :)

Hi Sarah thanks for your input here ! That was the one I ordered with the longer ‘bed’! Quality control is what lets these wheels down. But with a few quick moments with a spanner and some common sense these problems can be ironed out. SL

Glad to hear they worked with you regarding getting the wrong wheel. I've thought about a traveling wheel for demonstrations, but I have never done a demonstration and probably would not anyway. Still, good to hear your review, thanks!!

A friend of mine got a low end wheel and swapped the throwing head with a grinding wheel, works very good for finishing foots. I spent twice as much getting an old rk-2 fixed up and running than what one of these cost, got it about 3 years before these became widely available. No regrets though.

I purchased the 14 inch head one for $206 for doing demos at shows and tooling. I put bat pins in the head it works fine for what it is .

Enjoyed the review -- one of the best no-nonsense ones I've seen. If I were in the market for another wheel, I'd certainly give one of these a try.

What did they send you? I've got a vevor 14 inch in Flanders and it works just fine, no issues whatsoever

I bought a , Vevor, cost me less then $150 , I figured at that price , was hard to go wrong , but it’s working and I making work on the wheel. No issues at all but my lack of experience. I do lots of painting , and when I do clay , mostly sculptures , I did not really have the time to justify several hundreds on a wheel , but I wanted to try it out. Also have to get the torch going for metal sculptures. Works great. Plus it came with a lot of tools to use with the wheel. PS the wire I bought from you to cut clay , is super great !

Simon my friend, This is nice on what you are doing. It is kinda sad we did not have this kinda cheep wheel way back when. my first wheel was a Acme at a little over $600. this was quite a time mack.. I was so happy with it. I think because it was mine and I did not need to go to some place other than my home. it is great that you and others who can share and teach the joy of making pottery. that was one of the big reasons that I bought the two Brent wheels. the Brent B is ok but the Brent CXC is a monster and a power house more than any average potter would need. you have done great by teaching and showing the use of a lot of types of wheels in your studio.by for now my friend. I'm still using the prayer cloth, tku. eddie.

Sometimes you need a really slow wheel speed - as far as I know none of these cheap wheels can go slowly. Before I used such a wheel I would test continuity with earth for the wheel head and steel body. In fact I would take off the bottom plate and check the wiring - especially the mains connection.

Bought the 36cm last month because it had a lot of good reviews. Unfortunately, the wheel head is off-centered and wobbling. VEVOR's customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. Their website says 30-day no-hassle returns, but getting a new wheel has been the biggest hassle ever! Their first reply was for me to wait 3 weeks for a repair kit so that I could fix it myself. We've gone back and forth several times and each time they refuse to let me return the wheel - they keep upping the incentive to keep it. So far they're giving me $125 to keep it. Does anyone know how to fix it? I have no idea and now I'm stuck with an off-centered pottery wheel.

Hi Simon. I’m in Canada and every time I try to go to your website I get a warning that it’s unsafe and that someone may be impersonating you to scam me. Can you post a direct link in reply?
