We are getting the chicks tomorrow to replace the flock that someone stole last fall and I can't wait! Fortunately we have a good friend who is hatching and sexing them for us. We do have 3 hens that were left so we get a couple of eggs most days. Our ducks are laying but I can't eat duck eggs because they upset my stomach but the rest of my family can enjoy them.

Lisa, a tip for the pita bread- after baking it- cover it immediately with a regular (dry) towel for a few minutes. This will give them the desired texture. After they are cold you can easily freeze them in case you have too many.

When I lived in Japan, there was a place that served savory Dutch baby pancakes! They were dreamy! My favorite had pesto spread over it, a hearty handful of mixed greens, and a kielbasa like sausage on top (sometimes I would add on tomato or runny eggs!) My husbands favorite had Mac and cheese 😂

My leftover roast chicken carcass, bones, and scraps are simmering away. Will make the noodles later. He may not touch it, but no pressure. It just nice have a good smell in the house. Lisa, I listened to your Podcast about sewing yesterday and you were talking about the cost of fabric, your host suggested tablecloths might work. I recently ordered a beautiful tablecloth from Williams Sonoma in 120" size and it was about $160, not inexpensive but not too bad for the quality. It is a cotton linen from Italy with bees on it and its lovely~ anyways I would check out that store if your looking to turn tablecloths into black out drapes. Hope this helps!

I just love watching your videos even though I was recently diagnosed with celiac and got rid of my 6 year old einkorn starter. So sad. Still watch, though! Thought I might offer a suggestion for future stomach bugs or really any stomach situation; activated charcoal. It's been almost a miracle for our family. It has saved us from the suffering! If you can start taking it by capsule or opened in a little water as soon as symptoms begin, or even before prophylactically, you can stop it. You can take a look at the research on it. It sure has saved us many a time as one of my daughters has several food allergies and it works every time!

So inspiring! Btw, what you call puff pancakes, we call German Apple Pancakes…….we make the Dutch pancake, but fill it with baked cinnamon apples, we fold up the pancake and then have a sweet orange sauce to go with it. It is absolutely the BEST tasting food, and especially perfect for fall. I have never had them any other way, but I’ll have to try it!
