dint quite catch the end..320 on the primer and prep out paint with 600...what does that mean ''prep out paint with 600"?paint then sand with 600 for clear?
@edgarsoto88609 күн бұрын
Sand the area you worked on with 320 meaning the dent you repaired and where you sprayed primer then prep the paint means sanding over the whole fender with 600 going over the area you repaired aswell and then spray after sanding the whole thing with 600

hi, can you make a video on how to using a curing lamp on body work and high build primer to speed up curing times during winter?
@GarageNoise8 ай бұрын
I think I'll do a whole series on spraying in the cold. I've delt with it for years so I think it would be helpful.
@angelcruz28658 ай бұрын
@@GarageNoise Yes it would be very helpful, I’ve been looking all day for videos on doing body work and spraying in cold temperatures but I haven’t found many. This series will definitely help out many with this problem.

A tip you might want to try' to save on the cost of body-filler' sweep up and filter out the body-filler dust off the floor and then add fiberglass resin to it and reuse it. Recycle.

Question, can you sandblast a 2 inch area of rust, hit with 80 grit, then apply a rust inhibitor, then bondo glass, etc.. on top? Or skip the inhibitor and bondo over the blasted/80 grit metal? Its on a car roof
@GarageNoise4 ай бұрын
You got the right steps and process so yes you can. If it's pitted I would use the rust inhibitor.
@mikep5094 ай бұрын
@@GarageNoise Thanks... its a smorgasbord of info out there with xyz primer over xyz surface, but DTM only with this stuff, and wet sand this, dry sand that, clean with alcohol, or clean with de greaser etc ... I prefer to do the repair a la 1970's old-school... my dad did the same on our family station wagon decades ago... I remember him working on it... but I was too young to appreciate the work involved.... I'll sandblast, hit with 80 grit, give it a shot of rust inhibitor just in case, bondo glass, sand, putty, sand, urethane prime, urethane prime/seal/filler, sand, basecoat, maybe sand, clear, buff, and then Crack open a beer 🍻 ... does this sound about right?.... BTW thanks for all you do for us newbies fed up with price gouging from the big boys
