Oh yes life has been hectic, hard and Hot outside. My Toyota Highlander’s radiator broke ( the day it was 114 outside) and it had liquid leak and now my engine is ruined. It was too hot outside I guess. have no car. Daniel has cancer and all the chemo, and meds are so strong. Please pray for me dear friend I’m having a very sad time

Just wanted to jump on here and tell you something! You mentioned that you were supposed to grease and flour that mold/pan. I wanted to tell you about this magic potion called "Baker's Joy". You will find it in the store where you find the other cooking sprays like "Pam". It is a baking spray that somehow has flour in it and it works like a charm. So quick and easy, I keep it on hand all the time. It has been around for many years. Aldi had their brand of it, then it disappeared and they no longer carry it. "Pam" has their version of it as well, the can is blue. I am typing this comment at the beginning of the video, but I did see in the "preview" that your cake turned out perfectly. I know your girls love baking, so I thought I should tell you about it. Love your videos, I have been watchig since Evey was a baby. Becky in AR

Oh my goodness... that Nordick ware loaf pan was a total steel !!!!! I have the muffin pan that is small individual acorns and fall leaves. I paid full price at Wm. Sonoma . But they are so adorable when baked. I usually either do cornbread or pumpkin bread in mine . I love egg salad, and use the large side of my cheese grated to "chop" the eggs..... and always add dill! Also , I do beleive I could be a millionaire if I came up with a better lemon squeezer! It always takes so much hand strength .

I JUST saw someone make egg salad with a cheese grater on KZbin and thought it was genius,going to try it this week! My favorite thing to add to egg salad besides mayonnaise is sliced green olives! It is the perfect combination because the eggs are kind of blah but the salty green olives really add pizazz!

The loaf pan you purchased is originally sold at Williams Sonoma. I have the same one that I bought a few years back. I'm pretty sure I paid $36.95 for the pan. A similar one is on their website for $39.95 this season. I'm going to try your delicious lemon cake recipe. Thanks for sharing.

I don't use one, but it's one pound of Italian sausage, about 2 large sweet bell peppers or about 8 mini peppers, about a 1/2 cup of cream, and a splash of the starchy pasta water. As the water comes to a boil I cook the peppers first in olive oil with a little salt, then when they're soft and caramelized I remove them from the pan and add the sausage. Once that's browned I add back in the cream and let it simmer while the pasta cooks. When the pasta is near ready I add about a cup of the starchy pasta water to the sauce, drain the pasta water, and add the sauce to the pasta.

Dear Hilary, how do you manage screen time with your kids? Playing on a cell phone or iPad or watching movies or KZbin videos? I struggle with this a lot and I fear that kids get addicted to it too easily. xx

We limit it, is the short answer. My kids have never had their own devices. We have a communal iPad and computer that they ask to use. We don’t do iPad or phone games, the only game they play is the website abcya on occasion. They never use my phone, but my 11 year old will sometimes ask to use my husband’s to look something up. They do watch “tv” and movies but again it’s a communal thing (tv meaning streaming services). Some weeks it’s more and some weeks it’s less, just depends on what we’re doing those days, but it’s definitely not every day. That being said, seasons of life change, and weather seasons for that matter, so nothing is hard and fast around here. I will always lean towards less screen time though, once you start it’s hard to stop. Hope that helps!

Here in the uk the water & cream would be just what we cooked it in initially and then we would add a sauce also, we would pour the entire dish into a sauce,something like a garlic & tomato pasta sauce or a bacon & tomato one. It's very tasty.

@@janeevans4758 The majority of pasta sauces in America are tomato based.The meat ones have ground beef or sausage,sometimes bacon,and the meatless have basil and garlic. The rare,non,tomato based sauce is typically an Alfredo sauce with cheese and heavy cream,which no one adds tomatoes to. This was a simple variation of that which really intrigued me as my husband doesn’t like cheese. But hers was definitely a sauce as it was.

Lol no we boil the pasta in water then drain it off, but we do make a tomato sauce with bacon or whatever but we use cream as a base to build the sauce, adds a really creamy taste to a tomato sauce especially if using tomatoes nearing the use by date as they can be tart. I has been so hot this last week. I'm not far from you in PA and it's so hard being outside. i tried my daily walk in a mall but even that made me light headed.
