World Champion Magnus Carlsen and 11 more of the world's best chess players are competing in the Chessable Masters by chess24, the 3rd event in the $1 million Magnus Carlsen Chess Tour, taking place from June 20 to July 5. The 12 players will first be reduced to 8 in a 4-day knockout stage split into two groups. The A Group features Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, Daniil Dubov, Alexander Grischuk, Vladislav Artemiev and Harikrishna.
The players play each other twice in rapid chess over 10 rounds, with the top 4 then advancing to the knockout stage. The time control is 15 minutes for all moves, with a 10-second increment from move 1. No draw offers are allowed before move 40. The tournament is sponsored by Chessable, the world's leading online chess training platform. Official website: chess24.com/tour

Queen and Pawn End Games. I play a beauty and get the win whilst patting myself on the back; then turn the Engine on it and see I went from +100 to -100 ten times before my opponents blunders for a final time.
@EYESCREAM0
@EYESCREAM0 3 жыл бұрын
If you analyse this game with an engine, you will see something similar. That Qg8 move by white to defend the g5 pawn allows black to get an advantage right away, but Magnus did not see it. After some checking, black sacrifices a pawn with h4 (this is the only move that allows black to take the advantage right away), next with g3 trades the pawn with white's f-pawn, then gobbles up the sacrificed pawn on h4.

This is a great chess Channel. Agadmator's laid back style is engaging. I look forward to seeing agadmator identify failures to find or execute the best move using an engine of the Caruana, Giri, Capablanca and maybe even fan favourite Dubov which could have lead to their respective defeats if found by their respective opponents. It would be refreshing.

20:02 Agadmator missed to cover this poison idea from Magnus. Magnus does a queen block with Qe4. Also if, white Queen is greedy and goes for the undefended f7 pawn or leaves the H row, then Magnus had Qh1 mate.. ! Of course, Harikrishna didn't fall for this trap. And neither did Antonio see it I presume 😊👌

#suggestion Another better move to win the game from 20.15 is queen to h1 check. King moves to e2. Then queen to d1 check. King to e3. Queen to d2 and check mate.

Enjoyed certainly but the question that came to my mind is that why Harikrishna is seen so rarely, watching him after 2 knights (only) check mate , first such practical check mate for me.Thanks for both the cases watched on your channel.

Even though that was a solid preparation from Hari, Carlsen was too good to counter it..just shows how good a player he is! Well played Hari too!

Those of us who have been following Agad for 2 plus years were here when he first received complaints from viewers that some of us could hear his speaker volume through his microphone, effectively replicating every move sound like an annoying echo for the listener. So he has been leaning down ever since to turn off his speaker. Sometimes he remembers before he starts recording, but more often than not he only remembers after it's under way. I can remember the first time he ever said, "Sorry about that" regarding this particular issue. Did not think it would take on such a life of its own. But then again, had under 10K subscribers when I first started watching him. So there's a whole lot of memes that have come about with his channel that we early birds never saw coming.

Am I the only one who's amazed by how this guy can think fast? Like, wtf? I enjoy watching him describing a chess game because it intrigues me... he will always explain that you can't do a certain move by predicting the next 50 moves to prove his point lol, it's just incredible.
