@FloppingCrappie
@FloppingCrappie 2 жыл бұрын
You can set the bobber stop to any depth that you want. Thr bobber stop will be inside your reel under you cast a certain distance away from the boat. As the jig falls, the slip bobber will slide up the line until it reaches your bobber stop.

Davis question< how are you tying on your jig? Why not tie a knot on the jig eyelet??
@FloppingCrappie
@FloppingCrappie 4 жыл бұрын
I tied a loop knot to the jig in the video. It depends on the style of lure I'm using, if I'm vertically fishing I tend to use a loop knot. If I'm casting, I will use an improved clinch knot or palomar knot

Tungsten is also the only weight allowed in a few states anymore. I believe California is one. Just for water quality, when my lead is done I'll switch to Tungsten. I'm not sure if split shots can be purchased in Tungsten. Anyone know the answer to this?

I try to match the bobber size with the weight of the split shot or bullet weight. Typically a 7/8" with work for either 1/16 or 1/8oz. Split shot. The 1 inch is great for 1/8 to 1/4 oz.

Watch a video on the bobber stop knot. Tie it on with 1 size larger mono than you're fishing with, if possible, it goes through eyes like butter. Rubber stops are a problem when casting to fish over ten feet deep. They grip eyes and over a few casts change your set depth. If this doesn't help, change rods. Seriously, micro guides suck for slip bobber fishing; hands down Worst fishing innovation of the 20th century.

Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats kzbin.infoUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.
