I don't really have tricks per se, but I like to go wide and squat on the board especially while going down an incline. It's just to temporarily rest and reduce wind resistance. I also like to grab the rail on tight turns while the other arm is "feeling the wave".

Lovely speed checks and manuals! That "dancing" and some backward looks were so much fun

Just ordered my first surf skate, super jealous of the trails you have there they look so long and smooth

It’s about 80 miles around the city. Congrats! Hope you have fun on your new board!!

One of my favorites is using stuff on the ground like painted dashed lines, gum, geese poop, and leaves/sticks/etc as an imaginary slalom course. It's fun to see just how tight of a turn you can make to miss the obstacle.

Same! Maybe you can tell, but I do it all the time. So fun just cutting in and around stuff 🔥

You helped me big time with bowl carving - now this - my flat pumping has improved big time as well. I have my Arbor Rally with Paris V2 180mm trucks - quite wide for the board and am riding them fairly loose - they are stable don’t think I want to go down the carver trucks route, but do they make a significant difference?

I’ve not had the privilege of riding any trucks made by Paris yet so I can’t compare. In this video I’m riding a Meraki S5. But I think all of these trucks are significantly different from one another. But if you’re cruising on Paris trucks, my guess is all these maneuvers are reasonably feasible!

Just back from a pump session - great cardio - going really well - to be honest I’m pumping really well doing it much the way I always did without realising but with a bit more emphasis on technique and effort from having watching yourself and I’m surprised how well I’m doing. I’ve loosened up the trucks up a good bit which seems to help. I turned 60 this year but this is going to be great cardio for me. Thanks for all the help. I l

Thanks for new inspiration! Nice video bro, nice ideas of how to enrich daily routine cruising however I would particulary avoid drop-ins with no protectors. How were your knees and hips after those first two failed attempts? (I felt ants on my back watching this)

Pads are always the safest option for sure! Everything was totally okay after slamming except I lost a huge chunk of skin off my left palm 😅.

Great video, I'll def be attempting some of these! How to you maintain so much speed on flats without having to push?
@TheSurfskateboarder6 ай бұрын
I’m not totally sure because I’ve learned to ride and subsequently done all of my riding alone, so I don’t exactly know how to compare. I will say this: I’ve watched a lot of videos talking about surfskate pumping that emphasize the front foot for pumping. When I want to sustain speeds of 10-12mph, I use my back foot just as mush as my front foot. I’m almost doing an opposite opposing motion with my back leg and I generate more speed.
