If you know this method, you've definitely been wearing extensions 😂for a good minute. Back in the days this was discussed on forums such as Long Hair Care and pictures posted on Fotki. The lady who put the method together was Robin Woods. She definitely gathered all the knowledge on how to care for one's hair by wearing a long term protective style in between relaxers in one place and made it clear and easy to understand. You did a good job down memory lane 😂 with breaking down the method for the newbies and anybody who doesn't know this. Neutral protein filler is a good alternative for the Apoghee 2 steps. Thank you for sharing.

I did my own version of this waaay back in the late 80s/early 90s the first time I big chopped. I did it out of convenience bcse I worled full-time, which involved frequent court appearances, and I had no time to experiment with a twa! Had no idea this was "a thing". And yes, my hair grew out, healthy and lush.

I don't remember this method by name. I do remember the long hair care forums. This is similar to how I took care of my hair when I first went natural back in the day. I did the big chop and wore braids for the first couple of years. I washed with diluted shampoo weekly, used moisturizering braid spray and castor oil. Everyone had a special mix for their braid spray🙂. Funny - VO5 products were my wash day products of choice. I'm considering revisiting braids. I just need to find a braider that I like.

6:00 you can also just use carol daughter micellar water shampoo. I find it deep cleans and spreads through the hair easily given its consistency. Its definitely a game changer. Also please stop telling people use aphogee 2 step! aphogee 2 minute reconstructor or a deep conditioner with protein in it is just fine. The fact that this method was originally for relaxed hair says a lot. They are the people who would need full on protein treatment like that. You're going to cause a lot of people to get protein overload

I use Aphogee Two-Step every 6-8 weeks, 2 min Reconstructor bi-weekly, Restructurizer every other day and I'm natural and my hair is thriving. Environmental issues such as pollution, wind, humidity, and sunshine damage the hair. Washing, Combing and styling as well have adverse effects on the hair among other things because our hair is made of protein and each of these actions chips away the keratin little by little, therefore, the need to replenish it. Moreover, some people have high porosity naturally, therefore, require a major protein such as this. In essence, we should all do what is best for our hair.🤗🤗

I am going to use this when I add in my curly hair. I'm doing the mini braid method right now, and I still feel I'm doing too much manipulation to my hair. I think due to stress and overmanipulation, I have a lot of breakage on my edges on both sides (and I never do baby hairs so Idk). Also in the middle of my head in a few spots when I was parting for these braids, the small sections of hair were see through. I was shocked at the breakage bc this is the very reason I cut my hair and started over about 2 years ago. I also seem to have a ton of baby like short frizzy soft hair all over the top of my hair thats shorter than all the rest of my hair (is it new growth or breakage?). But I will use diluted shampoo, and spray/sponge in between washing and buttering.

@@ALove4Me No I never did actually. Let me give you an update actually - I didn't continue this method. And the history of this is - I was doing wash and goes almost daily for months, or slicking it back, putting so much product (mostly gel) on my hair washing with hard water and not necessarily clarifying, thoroughly drying (it would be wet in the middle when I wd slick it back) or deep conditioning my hair. I took the mini braids out and cut off a lot of the see-through parts of the hair. (A big-ish chop on blown-out hair). From there, I committed to weekly washing deep conditioning, and blowing out my hair with heat protectant and minimal products (only a leave-in and a bit of styling cream - less than I usually would use). (avoiding products on my scalp), and then covering it with a wig (in plaits or braids and a wig cap) or wearing in an afro. I am consistent with this. I invested in the revlon blowdryer brush and use clarifying shampoo (now that i live in a country with hard water). My hair is thriving now. The thin parts have filled in. I eat a lot more fruits and juices now bc it is much cheaper where I live (and I am less stressed too). Like up to 3-4 liters of fresh pressed juices per week - green, carrot, citrus, beets, etc.

Aphoghee doesn't say after you have used the 2 step that you're sulposrd to wash your hair, you're supposrd to use another product moisturizer afterwards and then use the reconstructir. Use the Aphoghee shampoo first. Follow the instructions on the 2 step direction first. I've been using it for years.

Thanks for sharing, but I didn't tell anyone HOW to use the treatment. One should always read the instructions
@uberhaute_naturalz84
@uberhaute_naturalz84 Жыл бұрын
The instruction is to apply the 2-step and comb it through the hair for even application (I don't use a comb though) and wait till the hair is hardened. Then, rinse out completely with warm water. Follow it with their Balancing Moisturiser, not their 2 min Reconstructor and rinse it out properly. 2 min Reconstructor unlike 2-step (which is for severely damaged hair, relaxed and chemically treated hair) is for mildly damaged hair. From the ingredient list, the protein in the 2- step is in the first five ingredients while the protein in 2min starts at no 10 or 13!
