I was surprised, but pleased, to see you two venture into this area - you did a great job researching and providing relevant facts (and not overly prescriptive personal financial advice). I work for the US government in the federal financial regulatory sector, in the agency that oversees and/or monitors the market sectors you covered in this video. It's great for people to become as educated as possible on this topic, and also to be sure to verify that the business one has their money housed and being managed at, is under proper governance and monitoring by entities such as the ECB, BaFin, etc. - in order to ensure the long-term safety and soundness of your savings. I'm sure many expats will appreciate your diligence in researching and recapping your findings.

Scalable capital and Trade Republic handle crypto different than regular crypto exchanges i.e. you cannot move your crypto out of these platforms into a cold storage. 2. Our service is aimed at persons resident in Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain and metropolitan France. In addition, the following requirements must be met: You are over 18 years of age. You are not subject to US taxation (not a “US person” under US tax law). You have a current account that is kept at a credit institution based in the SEPA area. You use our service as an offer from a foreign provider.

@@simplegermany I think the first thing to recognize about crypto is that it's a Zero Sum Game. As an investment, you are basically hoping other people mess up in order for you to make a profit. When you make money from crypto, it's required that someone else loses money. There's no value created, like when someone buys a manufactured item, there's only people buying and selling. The only money that can some out of a cryptocurrency is the money that went in. When you invest in crypto as an investment, you are hoping someone else invests more and that's your profit.
