"August 1964, the U.S. entered the Vietnam War based on reports of an unprovoked attack in the Gulf of Tonkin - which the president knew were false." AKA the Vietnam war was started based on a lie and it got thousands upon thousands of innocent fighting age men killed. And people still trust their government. Here is a list* of the countries bombed and/or invaded by the United States from the end of the Second World War to 2020: Afghanistan 1998, 2001- Bosnia 1994, 1995 Cambodia 1969-70 China 1945-46 Congo 1964 Cuba 1959-1961 El Salvador 1980s Korea 1950-53 Guatemala 1954, 1960, 1967-69 Indonesia 1958 Laos 1964-73 Grenada 1983 Iraq 1991-2000s, 2015- Iran 1987 Korea 1950-53 Kuwait 1991 Lebanon 1983, 1984 Libya 1986, 2011- Nicaragua 1980s Pakistan 2003, 2006- Palestine 2010 Panama 1989 Peru 1965 Somalia 1993, 2007-08, 2010- Sudan 1998 Syria 2014- Vietnam 1961-73 Yemen 2002, 2009- Yugoslavia 1999 Note that these countries represent roughly one-third of the people on earth. 'Murica! *sigh* I wish we could all get along but as long as bloodthirsty psychopaths stay in power all over the world, they will pit us against each other like pawns in a sick chess game and the endless wars will never end.

We say that the Germans have no sense of humour, but they certainly knew how to troll... What I like about it is that it required few resources or violence and still had a major impact on the enemy as they became paranoid and withdrew troops from the front to chase after ghosts... not weird. Canada used to be pretty savage too. i heard a story where Canadian troops drew straws for German prisoners, and then they executed the ones who got a short straw. or just shot them if they decided it wasn't worth it. i don't know about Canada today. it hasn't fought a major war in a long time and it's gotten very passive and feeble.

Regarding the first part (switching the ammo with overcharged rounds): Just incase anyone is interested in exactly what the catastrophic failure of a firearm and the damage it can do to the user, the channel/"Gun-tuber" 'Kentuckyballistics" has several videos of different guns being blown up using overcharged rounds, including the AK-47! And to help picture just how insanely high pressure the rounds were that the MACV-SOG units were sabotaging the ammo supplied with, there's two videos in which Kentuckyballistics blows up .50cal rifles, which normally use rounds with an average operating pressure of 55,000psi, the one he uses to cause the rapid disassembly of the .50's is overcharged to about 190,000 psi.. MACV-SOG were by all accounts making rounds with upwards of 250,000psi.. and in a cartridge thats more than half the size of a .50cal round.. That's insane.. that would have been like a grenade going off in your hand/in your face.

Cambyses was interesting, he marched an army of probsbly 5000 men into the desert and disappeared without trace. Some versions say 50,000 men. Apparently in a big sandstorm. There are no big piles of bodies and it was suspected that this army got lost and dispersed into local villages and didn’t die.

Napoleon did one dirty trick back when he was emperor. Before the battle of Austerlitz, the Russian army retreated when Napoleon began to approach them just to undermine him So Napoleon tricked Tsar Alexander I into battle by sending a letter to him saying he was in a vulnerable position. The tsar believed him & met at Austerlitz, the Austrian empire During the battle of Austerlitz, Napolean retreated from the high ground and the Russians took it. Only for them to realise it was a deception tactic as that is what Napolean wanted Thanks to the fog, his army surrounded them & the Russians were forced to retreat giving Napolean the victory

There is an alleged trick, I don't remember if from the Korean or Vietnam war, where Americans wanted to capture a strategic position but did not have enough troops ready, so they walked against the enemy defensive lines with a marching band playing victory songs, and the enemy though that the Americans have won and were celebrating their victory, so they withdrew. The electrocution tactic damn, I've always thought that such tactic was possible but never thought that someone will actually use it. The ancient Persian and Egypt using cat was hilarious. My favorite is still project eldest son. Read that story years ago, and was amazed and impressed by it. The Green Berets basically took guerrilla warfare to a whole new level.

My grandfather was awarded 5 bronze starts, 3 with valor, and a silver star. He was a Sgt. Major, who fought in Korea, and 4 tours in Vietnam. He was one of the first 500 Americans sent to Vietnam as an advisor. He was with a small attachment of south Vietnamese troops, and was one of only 3 americans on this patrol. They had reports of a patrol of around 50 NVA troops coming there way. They sent scouts, and soon learned that it was closer to 300 NVA troops. They were outnumbered and were low on ammo, but had plenty of explosives and det cord. They expected the NVA to come thru a narrow valley, on their way south. They lined explosives in 3 X patterns thru the valley, across about 100 yards and had claymores on both sides of the valley, all was connected with detenation cord, and had troops on the hills of both sides. They waited for the NVA to come thru the valley, and from a single detonator, caused a massive series of explosions, eliminated almost of the enemy at once. Troops picked off the few survivors, and took many prisoners. They also got a lot of valuable intel from captured NVA. He was awarded the bronze star with valor, and the paperwork that comes with that award is quite fun to read. The story of his silver star is also a good read, but is a story for another day.
