This was a great video... and she Never said this was a video for beginners. So if you are a beginner, pausing as you go would help. I never saw the old one, but as a non- beginner, I'm very happy with the pace of this updated one, and that you skipped over things like how to make a slip knot, single crochet, etc, or counting every single chain. These are signs that this is Not a tutorial catered to beginners. Not that one couldn't learn this with your clear steps, and a little pause here and there, but one Does need to know the basics. Thank you so much for sharing!

First off, thank you so much for this video!! I am new to crochet and have been trying to make different items. I do have a question. On the second round of the sole, are you going under just the back stitch or both stitches? When I try to create these little shoes it's almost like I am missing something and the sole isn't expanding as much. Thank you for your time and expertise.

Is there a reason you cut off so much extra yarn after you finish with a color? I followed you then heard you say, “Now weave in your ends”, so I was very confused what to do with about a foot of wasted yarn! Did you weave all the extra yarn in?

I always end up with 5 extra single crochet stitches on the last go round on the sole. I've tried this at least a half dozen times and they keep coming out the same way. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I keep pausing/playing the video and I have you the loudest my computer will go but it's working minus that.
@bhagyashreed23616 жыл бұрын
Carla Russell That's right.. The first 3 increases on first side are not repeated on the other side. I ended up with exact 5 stitches extra as well

Yours are working into MUCH smaller stitches than mine. I was just using the written instructions. I came here to see why my 3-6 month pair was so huge. My stitches are much looser and it looks like you are using something smaller than my "I" crochet hook. Mine is 5.5 mm and my stitches, like I said, are extremely loose. Am I using the wrong crochet hook?
@lisapizza775 жыл бұрын

What is the pattern for 6--9 months
@1lmp16 жыл бұрын
These are very cute but the instructions are not very clear and I can understand the frustration some people have had following the video. I have been crocheting and knitting since age 5, now far over 50 years, I always make my own designs and found these cute so I decided to follow the video. It simply does not give accurate stitch count. I even made a drawing to see where I made a mistake. If you do additions as instructed the straight sides with single crochet on second round will not be completed with only 9 stitches. I modified and got it working well. In addition when I made the sling between the toes I tagged it with a slip stitch already right away avoiding to use a needle and an additional 2 tails to tag the band. It worked very well. Perhaps you could make another video with more close ups and giving the accurate stitch count around after both rounds so people could check if they got the count correct. It is a pity that less experienced crocheters can't complete the work, these are so pretty, I am sure my daughter in law will love all the different color combinations I am making, adding my own touch. Thanks for the idea!

How do I make these longer for a toddler?
@1lmp16 жыл бұрын
I would just add more stitches already in the beginning chain and go around one more round increasing on the toe end and heal with one addition on both sides, ea on toe end instead doing 2 single crochet stitches x5, increase to 2 stitches x7. Draw the child's foot on a paper and use that as a guide.
