I rarely watch detecting vids of just pulling up targets, I like to watch instructional vids where I actually learn something about detecting. You guys are beginning to be one of my favorite's.

Good stuff. Southern relics recommended your channel. Figured I'd check it out. Been using my Simplex for a while now, where I hunt in the woods, a 24 signal is often an old 1900s shot shell. Glad to see you digging pull tabs...! Lol! Agreed, you find rings without digging pull tabs.

Hey this is Mike. My chat is not working. But thanks for the comment and always nice words
@Bandit19782 жыл бұрын
It isn't the chatty signals in the ground that botherr me with my simplex, it is the high sensitivity to EMI ( like power lines ) that gets me. I have to turn mine down to like half or lower on the sensitivity to get it to quit chirping even when the coil is in the air. It also hates my Garrett pinpointer. I have to run it in beach mode if i want to crank up the power and then I lose a lot of depth. With all that being said, it is an awesome machine for depth.

I get a lot of noise on my Simplex chatter whatever it is called. So I dropped my sensitivity way down so by doing this don’t I lose depth
@mikekeeferwithaqualandreli4711 Жыл бұрын
Yes you will lose depth, but If you have heavy mineral soil you have to make adjustments. But you will know an actual tone from emi. As you hear in this video. I have a lot of so called chatter. Just gotta be able to siphon through the trashy, and the chatter. But with the simplex I keep my sensitivity about ¾away from full. Higher than that you get a lot of chatter.

Thanks, I'm new with the simplex, lots of chatter, I will slow my swing down.

That was pretty cool of you guys to give those kids the detectors. Look like it made there day. Hopefully they put them to good use. Yeah unfortunately we can not dig all of the signals we come across. We would be in one spot the whole time we are out. I’ve been in areas that the machine never cut off it was so full of stuff. We just have to pick the higher signals and decide on what to dig. The Equinox is the sameway. Like you saw. Pull tabs is in the good range. Thanks for sharing guys. See ya in the next.

When do you ground balance ?
@AquaLandRelics Жыл бұрын
I ground balance when ever I feel the need. Sometimes if it's getting too chattery I'll ground balance. If I notice a change in the soil type I'll ground balance. Then if the bar on the bottom of the machine starts to fluctuate I'll ground balance. But only takes a few seconds. So if you think about it best to do it my opinion!

Need help with either the Simplex plus or Equinox 600 what are the Best settings for either machine
@mikekeeferwithaqualandreli4711 Жыл бұрын
There really is not much as far as settings on the simplex. Pretty much you chose from field and park. And roll with it. Nox I haven't used so no help from me on that aspect.

So is it good for coins, rings in America? What numbers are going for? And the setting you use?? Thanks
@mikekeeferwithaqualandreli47113 жыл бұрын
I'm in park 2 mode. I dig a pile of coins. But most of my gold rings are in the 20-50 range. Nickels are like 23. Penny's and dimes, quarters are usually 70-91
@southernrelics3 жыл бұрын
Great tips Mike. I have been thinking about doing something similar at one of my permissions and digging the mid tones in day, then go back and dig the high tones to see what I come up with. This video will do well.

Great video. I know I am missing a lot of the good stuff and I need to change the way I am detecting. I have been skipping the 20 thru 70 VDI's for the most part. I guess I need to start digging them. I hunt in trashy areas and use the SP24 coil on the Simplex +. I like it that you restrict yourself to certain numbers on a given day. I think I will try that in a couple of areas that I hunt.
@mikekeeferwithaqualandreli47112 жыл бұрын
Yes I have only did this in this one spot. We have done dug most of the good high tones. And I hate digging pennies. So tried this technique so I can concentrate more on the lower tones and Block out the 'penny' just ordered the Legend so looking forward to what else I can find at this location

Chattery Because of too many Targets ,I think you are partially right but I & most people are referring to it being highly susceptible to EMI ..Next to powerlines ...my ATpro will out hunt the Symplex all day long..The stability can’t even be compared as the Garrett has much better stability running 15 kh .. Yes it’s slower but cleaner sounds and much much more stability. I really like my Symplex especially for the price but it is one of the most unstable machines next to heavy EMI
@mikekeeferwithaqualandreli47113 жыл бұрын
I agree but disagree I hunted a major powerline last year with both machines. Honestly the simplex was the quieter of the two. And I was able to find an eagle breast plate there. That for no doubt in my mind I would have not found with the pro do to emi. But love the pro and would never say anything bad about it. But all machines we can find weaknesses to. We just got to learn to overcome them. Thanks for the comment. Was much appreciated

@@mikekeeferwithaqualandreli4711 it is very interesting to hear different results..and yes every MD has its strength and weaknesses...for instance I like using the simplex in open farm and in the wood and use the pro in EMI old homes parks ..it what works for me ..thanks for posting

Planning on getting the Simplex soon. What version do you prefer?. Im looking for fast recovery speed and depth. For last fours years I've been swinging Eurotek Pro with Mars Tiger 10"by 15" coil, it's good for the deeper Indians and silvers.but really suffers at times with the EMI, Eurotek can't ground balance and no frequency shift.
@mikekeeferwithaqualandreli47113 жыл бұрын
I use the 2.78 and have no issues. The recovery speed is totally awesome. And it discriminates very well. It loves old rusty bottle caps. Comes up as a screaming target. I have found some great Relics deep. I find you gotta be slow with the coils to hear those faint deep high signals. I see some people swing very fast to each his own
