Nice video, as always. In the woods, I generally head towards the biggest (=oldest) trees. The longer they've been there, the more people have been around them 🙂

In the old days when armies marched, soldiers would hide their money before going into battle. Many didn't live to collect their money. I always look around the biggest trees and look for public footpaths as they have been there for hundreds of years. 👍🏻

Nice one Adam (as always). You're a regular triple threat - singer, trumpet player and KZbinr. Do you get to spend some time with your wife? On a personal note, you were very encouraging to me when I first started detecting with my Simplex and I can report that after three months and many, many bottle tops and tent pegs I finally managed to dig a big sterling silver Gucci ring from my local beach yesterday ( around $300 I believe). I'm finding park 2 works best for me so thanks again for the encouragement and tips.

Father christmas also needs to bring u a Garret pin pointer - when i detect these woods with my simplex most finds can be pin pointed with a garret and then located with the trowel - we have had pre decimals/decimals and ex military items there is also a scout camp area where we have found 20 plus cutlery items - finally the capsule is probably a dog tag container - due to high numbers of dogs walking thru woods

Are the woods worth detecting cant imagine finding much in the woods of any value or significance
@DTEKTSUSSEX Жыл бұрын
They can be. In days gone by if someone wanted to hide valuables they would often bury them next to a tree so they could find them again later. Armies would take shelter and refuse in woods. Many woods have been public rights of way in the past...even if it's not now.

Should try to rub the coil on the ground,could be losing a bit of depth there mate
@DTEKTSUSSEX3 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the comment but you should never let the coil touch the ground. Doing so can generate false signals on uneven surfaces and can scratch the coil cover. Minerals can then get caught in the scratches and seriously affect your readings. Best thing is to keep the coil roughly a centimetre off the ground where the surface allows. The ground in the woods was very uneven so a little more height was required. At the sensitivity level I was at there's no way I would've managed to dig down to the maximum depth anyway so all good here 😃😎👍

Hmmm...that is odd. Best I can suggest is to do a factory reset by turning the machine on and, when the Simplex logo appears, hold the pinpoint and settings buttons together until you hear beeps. If that doesn't work, get in touch with the Nokta Makro service centre fornyour country and they should be able to advise or fix it for you 😃😎👍
@DTEKTSUSSEX2 жыл бұрын
Hopefully not. Try the reset I suggested - it might just be a software glitch. It's very rare these machines have issues but Nokta Makro are fantastic at sorting them out on the occasions they do.

Can you just go to any wood or do you need permission to detect there?

Hello please setting simplex mode field french please good bye
@DTEKTSUSSEX3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for the comment. My French is a little rusty I'm afraid. The settings would depend on the field you're detecting on. If the field is likely to be 'trashy' I'd use one of the Park Modes to filter that out a bit. If it's not a 'trashy' field then Field Mode would be fine. In all modes make sure you ground balance and adjust the sensitivity to a point where the machine doesn't chatter. I hope that helps 😃😎👍
@boubou80623 жыл бұрын
@@DTEKTSUSSEX hello you discriminate (notch) if yes how much? me the first 4 5 10 15 20 I detect mainly in field mode with one less sensitivity bar you think park mode is good on plowing thank you for your feedback friend

and the iron volume you put it at how much? thank you
@DTEKTSUSSEX3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I don't discriminate at all. It's useful to hear the iron tones when you're deciding what to dig. In ploughed fields Field mode is probably best. The sensitivity will depend on the ground...every location is different. Play about with it and you'll find the right level.
