I chose this pattern to make a girls dress for the Dress A Girl annual event in September. Thankfully the smaller size allowed me to try the pattern in miniature. I fumbled the inset by cutting the fabric BEFORE I sewed the gathered skirt. Don't do that! Thank you Katinka for showing us to sew to the marked dot and THEN cut. Sheesh. I was able to recover, having a long and rich sewing history, but dangnabbit all, lol. Happy Fiftieth, Katinka...and thank you for thinking ahead and showing those little details that we (I) need. Love your channel.

I really like this pattern, made it up twice - in linen and linen-viscose mix. It is surprisingly flattering on. At least seen from the front, not so sure about the side view as with all empire line dresses, but hey, I don't see that !I don't bother with that front panel as other youtubers had mentioned it was an unnecessary faff. I just gather the whole front. Comfy and lovely to wear. In fact, you know what Katinka? I'll make another! 😊

I also have patterns that I love so much, where 1 is not enough. I actually love the front pannel. In this fabric you can't see it so well, but in plain linen....💭 what color would you make your next 1?
