Like you I been looking for this model for some time. As it is only available second hand it varies in price I use a number of auction sites and I've seen it go between 300 and 360 but this was more than I was prepared to pay. I was lucky towards the end of last year when I did manage to pick one at an auction site and only paid £200 plus Commission. Like you when I inspected it the model is absolutely up to modern standards for detail and it runs beautifully I am really very very pleased with it like you I would recommend it to anybody

Hi, this is one of the best train packs available to date, the level of detail is superb and the lighting is amazing, I have this set with Howes sound, I’ve upgraded the speakers with some 25 x 25mm mega bass units, it’s no longer available in this livery which I believe is the best livery, it was expensive but well worth the money in my opinion, thanks for sharing.

On release this set was superb. I had the Hornby Power Cars and 5 coaches but this was another world. It was also DCC Fitted and all for £295 which I paid including shipping. Can you imagine that now...err, no! Thanks for the detailed review - it really is superb. Mine hasnt been out the box since I bought it from Hattons on 7th Dec 2012. For fun I do run my Hornby set alongside it which is OK to the onlooker from about 4 feet :-) I also dont think there was a Sound version but I am sure there will be sound decoders out there that one could retrofit. I have seen them at £600 MIB at train fairs which would be inline with todays bonkers multiple unit pricing. Cheers
