Had to take a moment to really thank you for your amazing tutorials. I’m a 36 year old American born Fijian-Indian. My mom taught me how to cook at a young age but I was always so busy with school & working crazy hours & didn’t cook much when at home. I cook so much now & surprised my mom with Barfi (from your recipe) not too long ago & she was so happy-saying that even she couldn’t make it perfect. I showed her your channel. Seeing how proud my mom was of me was priceless & I have you to thank for it. Your tutorials are the best on KZbin & you have a kindness to you that’s so likable. May I kindly request a tutorial for daal without a pressure cooker ? 😅 Thank you beautiful -thank you for your videos, you have no idea how much they’ve positively affected my life! ❤ The pressure of a young Indian woman to cook perfectly is so real & can now be achieved with your help! Sending you much love!

Hey, thank you so much for taking out the time to write such a beautiful and kind comment. It’s comments like these that keep me motivated to post these recipes. I would be happy to share a daal recipe with you in the near future. I do make my daal in the pressure cooker but I do also know how to make it without it so I will post the recipe with stove top instructions. There’s so much more that I want to say to you right now because my heart is full of so much gratitude, but let me and here by saying you’re doing an amazing job and you should be proud of yourself. Thank you for making me a part of your journey. ♥️ Romi

What is your ratio of milk powder to sugar and water? Thanks.
@SBLtasteoffiji5 жыл бұрын
For every cup of water, use 2 cups of sugar and 4 cups of milk powder. Of course, the sugar syrup is cooked down so the water decreases during that process. You could just get away with wetting the sugar while making the syrup, as long as it reaches the right consistency. I hope that answers your questions. :)

If you have a microwave, then break up the barfi in a microwave safe bowl, add 2-3 tbsp of liquid milk and then microwave for a minute. Stir and microwave for 30 second increments after that until it starts sticking together. Then quickly spread on a lined pan. And press it down. Cut it right away.

You’re the first to say that about the video. Have you tried turning up the volume on your device? I hear myself talking quite loudly on my devices. I try to test watch the videos before posting them but sometimes, things don’t work out to favor everyone. Let me know if I can help you otherwise.
