This car is a 335is. Last of the legendary n54 engines to be made from 2011-2013 and the 335i went on to the n55. Only ~3600 335is were made by BMW and were sold in North America only making it a pretty rare care. This car was BMWs first run with an inline six, twin turbo with a 7Speed DCT and it worked out real well as you can see in this video. Of the 3600 that were made, only 5 were made in Crimson Red, with Coral Red interior making this car 1/5 in the world! pretty sick but its probably cause its not the nicest color combo lol but performance wise this car is wiiiiicked sickkk for stock turbos. Put some respek on its name and add the "s" in the title Thanks for the great videos !

Completely conceivable, it will hit 500 much lower in the powerband than all of the cars they went up against, stock n54 turbos stop flowing with any real efficiency after 5300 rpm (modded for big boost) after that iat just keeps rising and rising, this is evidenced in the video where he pulls really strong in the mid and upper mid-ranges but the others start to gain ground after 5500 or so. The only real thing to do is short shift a bit, say 6k, otherwise you miss the hp peak shifting at 7k. Watch when he races the 350z, you catch a glimpse of the tach close to 6k as the 350z starts to pull, he keeps the pedal down but the Z pulls even harder. Same as the srt4, he starts to pull on it but then the turbos output pancakes. These turbos can makes numbers but are not for racing - hes probably running 80%+ wgdc to keep those snails spinning hard above 5000 rpm.

thanks man. the car is dialed in on map 6 and pulls incredibly hard. some of the runs shown were performed on a different map setting. when casually driving, the car is normally in map 0 or 5. turbos were replaced on his car a few months ago so they have plenty of life left in them. fbo w/inlets, outlets, e70, custom tune through pure evil tuning, and no backseats/trunk lining

T T if you run FBO with inlets and e85 with a big intercooler you can definitely get 500whp out o the stock turbos. It just depends on the health of the turbos, engine, and the mods/ quality of fuel.

The 2013 335i has the N55 which in most cases are more reliable than the N54. Its a pretty good deal so id so go for it. I got real lucky with a 2012 335is with 42,000 miles for $22,000

Lets Cuddle, you don't know much about the N54 engine, stock turbo's plus bolt on Mods and a tune can get you upwards of 800HP, 700+ to the wheels on 93 Oct mix with E85. But at those numbers on a stock platform the reliability sucks. Either way 500WHP is easy to tune out of the N54. Your lack of faith in German engineering is disturbing Baby Cuddle!
