How I speedran the Scarlet Pokédex Day 1

When Pokemon Scarlet and Violet came out I decided I wanted to be one of the first people to ever complete the Pokedex. This is the story of that speedrun.
Run started just after 10 am EST on November 17th (JP eShop release) and finished at 5:58 pm EST on November 20th. There is only one known recorded pokedex completion (excluding leaks) that finished before this by / @astelleda . That run uses online trading with others for version exclusives making it the first co-op completion. My run, however, is entirely solo and all Violet version exclusives were caught on stream by me using a second switch before being traded to Scarlet, making my run the first solo Pokedex completion.

The reason that Pawmo didn't evolve was because the step count resets once you end the let's go mode, so it has to level up when it is out. And yeah 1000 steps won't take too long, 3 minutes of walking would be enough.

@@mutaku4287 It does not reset. I accidentaly put my Pawmo back in the ball multiple times. It's just important to keep it out in let's go mode when levelling it up. :)

Congrats on completing the pokedex by yourself! Completing it all by yourself is insane, i would have gone insane if i were in your shoes. My favorite thing about Astel’s run is that unlike your stream where you just turned the stream off he would just leave the stream on and take 2 naps for a hour throughout the whole thing and just go back to catching pokemon normally. I don’t understand how you guys function at all like this.

For the walking evolutions (pawmot, bramblin, roller) just walk from mesagoza gate to light house in the beginning area then back to mesagoza and circle back to Los platos. Longest route possible. It got roller evolved without having to count steps.

The easiest way to evolve the Walk Count evolutions is ride Koraidon/Miraidon in a circle while dashing while the Pokemon follows you. Took me two and a half minutes every time.

Easiest way to catch all pokemon is get a pokemon that can learn false swipe. Level it up to 70+. False swipe knocks the opposition's HP to 1HP therefore easy to catch.
