This is a brilliant show, it was watched by over 1.5 billion people in 1973, at that time there was 3.5 billion people in the world, and to this day is still the largest audience for a single performer via satellite. His costume for the show cost over $130,000, his voice is just fantastic, I've seen the show hundreds of time's, but I'll still watch your reaction, and i know you are going to be a big fan of the KING, thanks

@@SimplyKSimone Hey Simone, just a little fyi, there's a rehearsal show from the night before the big concert., also on KZbin. A lot of people like it better than the one aired. Elvis was looser and more relaxed. You can really see this on American Trilogy, for example. P.S. I love your reactions. I'm watching your food challenges.

elvis made you stand and take notice that he was one of us singing for so many things that we go through , Elvis was the real deal... He was very very generous , Really loved his fans and was very concerned about his image before his fans , He was a star and could have let his stardom get him out of the vietnam war but he didn't stating how he was no better than anyone else to serve his country , He was a mommas boy big time and he had a big heart for the down trodden for he didn't just sing about it , he was very giving to the poor also. When Martin Luther King got shot to death , Elvis cried like a baby and the next show he did He sung the song , if i can dream in honor of martin luther king. elvis presley was the total package , i could go on and on about this mans kindness to his fellow man ... but the total package is the best i can come up with to describe this man. No elvis was not perfect but compare to the divas and singers of today ... he was a true man and respectful of people.

Elvis was a believer in the Lord Jesus and the songs he sang has a Gospel flavor even if they were not directly Gospel songs. This is a powerful song and powerful performance. Once again Elvis showed that he put more passion into his singing than any of the others. No artist could follow this performance. This is from the biggest concert ever given by any artist. It was seen live around the world by half of the population at that time, a feat that remains unsurpassed.

This song is almost autobiographical. You can feel something like anger and pain, and there is pain indeed. A few months before his wife left him and took his beloved daughter with her! When you compare this Elvis ( 1973 ) with the 70's Elvis you can see the difference. He could'nt climb t h i s mountain anymore. After this great concert, it went down. He was no longer who he was before! Thank you again for your reaction, you hit the nail on the head! 👍

Agreed, after aloha it was a sad 4.5 yr decline. Ironic that after this show he was on the top of the "mountain' again, only to slide down. As healthy as he looked here, a week after the concert he was in the hospital.

Elvis reached his pinnacle moment of his life, during this amazing 1973 concert, he would never climb any hirer then this. Over 1.6 billion witnessed this live performance, world wide. It was shot at 12:30 a.m. in the morning Honolulu time. Elvis had two major devastating moments of his life. First the Lost of his beloved mother Gladys Presley, and his only wife, Priscilla Presley who divorced him. He would never get over both of them. Elvis was truly remarkable, not only as a entertainer, but a human being. "There will never be another".

Love it. A lot of Elvis fans think he was singing about his life, his wife having left recently, and the part about her taking his baby boy was actually talking about his daughter, but on a deeper level Elvis wanted to have a son, even had a name picked out, but with his wife leaving, he was saying she took his dream of a son. But just opinion.

Really enjoy watching your Elvis reactions. Elvis was the very first concert I ever went to ... my mom had been a fan right from when he first hit the scene in the 1950's. She took my older brother as well as myself at the age of nine to see him perform at Olympia Stadium in Detroit, Michigan (1971). We had main floor seats and with me just being a little guy had to stand on my seat to see Elvis over all of the screaming women, LOL! Keep up the good work and we'll keep responding ..... ✌ & ❤

Thank you my GIRL! Lyrics are everything! There is so much more to discover and in Country, you will get Lyrics that are true life. Now, I would like to recommend two Country Legends and their first hits, Conway Twitty and Kenny Rogers. Conway released “Only Make Believe” and the media went crazy posting false rumors of Elvis and Conway fighting to be the top guy. There was no feud, it wasn’t their style. Kenny Rogers found great success in Country Music but his first big hit was rock in the 70’s. Very unique voice melts the ladies every time. Please react to “What Condition My Condition Was In”.

This was a strange and hard time in Elvis' life. On one side, his professional life was soaring to new highs, yet his personal life was in trouble. There are many 'message' songs during this concert...having to do mainly with his separation with his wife & upcoming divorce. Elvis' career was by NO MEANS done, this just happened to be an odd time for such a HUGE event. Elvis & his crew arrived Jan 9. He did a rehearsal show on the 12th. Some changes were made for the official live satellite concert...a first of it's kind beamed all over the world EXCEPT the US. That would air in April. Elvis had 2 nearly identical suits for this, one for the rehearsal & one for the live concert. He also had a longer cape designed, but it proved too heavy & wasn't used. And each of those suits cost as much as a new luxury car today. Elvis & producer Marty Passetta had a meeting a few months prior...Marty and his team went to Long Beach, Ca in '72 to get a feel for Elvis & his show. After meeting with Elvis, Marty told him he needed to lose a few pounds & revise his show a bit....Elvis' guys at first got pissed & laid down a few of their guns on his desk as a message.....but Elvis stopped them & thanked Marty for being honest. Elvis managed to lose about 20 lbs, had a nice tan & focused himself on the project regardless of what was going on personally. This will always be historic. Elvis pulled it off with class, passion & power. He would continue to perform across the country selling out every major arena/stadium, work Vegas & Lake Tahoe. He continued to break attendance records & his popularity never ceased. He was filmed professionally a few more times during his last concert tour in June 1977. That in itself is historic. Long Live The King - PEACE!

ELVIS IS THE KING OF MUSIC Not of rock n roll. MUSIC . He has four gospel records and won his Grammy for gospel. Rock 'n Roll, Gospel, Country & Rockabilly HOF member. Please remember that Elvis was a BIG star in the 1950s! He performed three songs in three appearances on the "Ed Sullivan Show" the huge popular variety show. His third he sang the gospel song "Peace in the Valley " In JANUARY OF 1957 . This is 61 YEARS AGO ! Having two mega hits in 1956?? He COULD have sung any of his hit songs. But his mother Gladys knew how well he sang gospel and she REQUESTED her favorite gospel for him to sing. Please remember that Elvis and parents were POORER than these urban ghettos. In fact his dad Vernon was saving money to get INTO government low income housing. Elvis grew up in what is termed "shotgun shack" on the "other side of the tracks". It only had two rooms, no running water and no electricity. Elvis knew poverty where the projects were a DREAM for his dad.

Just a friendly technical criticism; at 2:27 it seems like you boost the volume of the music. That causes quite a lot of distortion to the audio. You should be able to avoid that by just boosting it less or getting your original recording levels more accurate. Anyway... like the video otherwise :)
