The man was just impressive at every junction of his life. He had powerful lungs to hit those notes. Fact: at a concert he took off a ring and gave it to a little girl in the audience in a wheelchair. His security saw it and walked up to her mother and told her to watch she didn't lose it because it was a $30,000 ring. He did these types of things regularly.

I was in the audience twice in Baton Rouge and once in Mobile from 1975-1977, and saw him perform this song live in all three concerts. His delivery was just as effortless and powerful as this, and you could feel the whole arena tremble around you each time when he hit those notes.

Aside from the songs from the '50's-'60's, i.e. hound dog, blue suede shoes, etc...fans demanded he perform them, so he did them but in a rather fast abbreviated fashion. The '70's marked a time when the music he wanted to perform reflected what was going on in his life & what he reached to for strength. That's why I love this part of his career the most, because it basically came full circle & you got to see the human being behind the image. As for that particular ring on his left hand, he paid approx. $40-45k BACK THEN. It was auctioned off in New York some time ago for $205k. It had a 10.5 caret center diamond , surrounded by 11 more smaller full diamonds making the horseshoe design on top of a solid gold backing. PEACE!

Actually, he did it! music is part of culture and culture is part of society, he changed with his music, his performances and his movies, his style, his speech and his presence, changed the way people look, think and live. Extensive changes in the attitudes of young people and the creation of great bands and singers in the 1960s and 1970s were the result of the cultural revolution that Elvis created in the 1950s, he did what he had to do.

This song was first recorded by Frankie Laine in 1968 and was written by country singer/NASCAR driver Marty Robbins, who was a friend of Elvis. Elvis never recorded a studio version of this song, but it became a regular part of his live shows. I never heard him sing a bad version of it, and it became one of his favorite songs.

Pricilla left him 1972 n he had a hard time getting thru all these beautiful songs. But Elvis pulled it off. I was there in 3rd Row center n talk about rings 3 gold ones right hand n 1 LARGE DIAMOND ON left hand. I heard the diamond could have bought a house n most of his rings were from $20,000 - 60,000. His jumpsuits were full of real gems n ran $150,000. This show he had to lose 25 pounds as Col Parker wanted him to look perfect. They even had 2 sizes of American Eagle suit made so it fit perfect. He looks great in anything he wears. They say that 1 hour before he goes on stage he is very nervous but doesn't show when he hits the stage. When he walked out on the stage Hawaii he said" you know this show is going to be seen around the world,So I M Going To Need ALOT of Help" This was the only concert of his I got to see n went crazy at 21 years old. I will stop this post as I could go on for hours. And thank you very much for cont. with Elvis. One stupid question, what does Goat mean. In my time 60s we used groovy, far out, hang loose( Elvis used those one ALOT.) Will give you songs that I know you will love. I first will check if you already reacted.

Elvis did a one stop shopping universal concert, 1.5 billion around the world watched, that's why show was at midnight.he was powerful, incredible handsome, at 38 years old, at that age a lot of performers poop out and think it was only 19 years when he was discovered. He is unique because he beat the Beatles in concert tours, we equal with the stones in that area, and still was a box-office smash, even in last televised concert in 77. It may seem disturbing to you, because he was ill, but he gave give his all with no that powerful operatic voice yes it was a night at the opera with Elvis. This concert so precious, important historical document of greatest entertainer of all time. Not knocking all other wonderful talents, they made their mark. But Elvis gave the world a magic no one else could. May take another 100 years before he maybe topped. Or maybe never, I am 61,and grew up with he is movies ,by 7 years old knew who Elvis was through his movies and televised concerts and records. I was lucky to have witnessed this icon in my lifetime, Elvis is an inspiration to other musicians even today he is a great teaching music tool today.

Effortlessly. he did do it, WOW!!!! This was ANOTHER REQUEST OF MINE!!! I know what mountain he is talking about. Another great one from this concert is What Now My Love. His opening lines just give you the chills. Elvis does a little OPERA in this song. You won't be sorry. I hear a little operatic sounds in other songs. He even did spanish songs out of 1 or 2 of his movies. You ought to hear that. He's climbing the stairs in these last notes on this song for the finish. I HIGHLY request What Now My Love--another great message song. Only The King, baby!!!. This was a benefit concert. Everything thing he made he donated it to the American Cancer Soceity. He announces this in the concert. A big leader in Hawaii had just passed away to lung cancer and Elvis wanted to help for future cancer patients--he was a VERY giving person. He's had bought hundreds and hundreds of cars through the years and gave them to TOTAL STRANGERS--just helping them out!!!

Elvis was going through some personal struggles with his marriage about this time. This is about the same time he recorded “Always On My Mind” and “Separate Ways”, which was written by his long-time friend and body guard, Red West. This is the era where he really started using his music for himself, so he could try to heal. His music healed so many peoples lives, but it couldn’t heal his. Long live the king.

The show I went to was the 2nd show in Hawaii 1973 n that one was broadcasted around the world. I saw on line American Trilogy n Fever from the other show n some small mistakes I saw. Who cares anything does is perfect. And when I talked with Charlie Hodge 2004 Elvis confidant n best friend that lived at Graceland 17 years I think he said. He said the rings were real. Elvis didn't do Fake. I know people have their opinions, I really feel Charlie would know the truth. From 1956- now I think I have found ALOT of info. I also met Ronnie Tutt n Jame Burton from his great band.

People don't understand how big this concert was. It was 1973 and the very first thing that was broadcast worldwide by satellite. One in three humans alive watched it. More people watched it than the landing on the Moon.

That is one you need to watch the whole concert. It was the first ever broadcast that was shown around the world at the same time. Elvis had a lot of first in his lifetime. Elvis' vocal range was E-Bb5.
