Fabulous. I really enjoy your style of these videos. No jargon, no excessive clowning and no plugging other people or annoying vocal tics. One can concentrate on the food and seeing you as a great narrator and guide towards a delicious meal.

What I really like about your videos is that you’re not giving too much focus on how you do things, the aesthetics etc. It’s all simple and homey. Staying true to “Simply Mama Cooks” i love it. 🥰🥰🥰

Here un Puerto Rico we called them “rellenos de papa” and we make them with more of a rounded shape, like a ball and without the cheese. I love them, there so good 🤤

I do believe she's Latino. And put her own spin to them. And the cheese actually make them looks good. So because ur Puerto Rican don't really means nothing.

This brings back memories of my mother-in-law (Puerto Rican) teaching me how to make these. She was an excellent cook, could have opened her own restaurant. I’ve figured out how to make pernil in a crockpot (w/crunchy chicharron in the oven), chicken fricassee, and arroz con gandules like her as well. I’ll add this to my repertoire.

I am so glad I found this! When I was growing up in Brooklyn NY (many years ago) I used to love to walk to the local restaurants that made PR food. My Father was Puerto Rican -but my Mother was Cajun French - so I had my experiences with PR food by eating in friends houses. The thing I always loved to buy from the stores was the "rellenos de papa" because it was easy to eat on the run (with lots of napkings) and totally delicious! My Granddaughters are Half Salvadorian from their Mother's side, so I am introducing them to the Puero Rican foods that I like the most! Thank you - and I can't wait to make them!

When I moved from Philly to a little border Town in Arizona I had the most wonderful culture shock that seemed so familiar for some reason a lot of the food that Mexicans eat the Irish have similar recipes, even though I grew up in the inner City we were very poor so we ate the lesser cuts of meat like cow's tongue the stomach pigs cheek and intestines and we had one thing called haggis where you put the heart lungs and kidneys into a pig stomach and cook it and her recipe for stuffed potatoes is no different the only difference we did was we rolled it in egg flour and bread crumbs then fried it, but I really like her method I'm going to try it and I will give you my verdict also I just subscribed to your channel.

this looks soooo delicious. my neighbor's mother from Indonesia used to make things similar to these and give some to us. it's fun to see how people from totally different countries commonly decide that some things are just super delicious together! and they're totally right! ♥️ also this seems like a super weird thing to say but i love how bright orange that egg yolk was :) usually that means the chicken that laid it lives a good healthy life! woo!
@margaretcameron12752 жыл бұрын
Ess h. I too noticed the beautiful vibrant color of the egg yolk. I agree with your assessment of the chicken's life. That's why we have to support pasture raised organic farms.
@funnyfroggiealert18162 жыл бұрын
@@margaretcameron1275 i completely agree! we always buy our eggs from the pasture chicken section of the supermarket, or from the local chicken farm. it's more expensive but tastes so much better

I love cooking, because I love eating! I made your tamales recipe and loved every bite. While making the tamales, the smell of the chili sauce pulled out a long-forgotten memory of me being 7 years old and watching my Grandparents steaming tamales to eat in their stock pot on their stove. (They should not have even known about tamales since they were poor Scot-Irish coal miners from the hills of Virginia). How sweet to remember this because I was so very young, and my grandparents were young, and healthy, and still here on earth with us! This nostalgia alone was greatly appreciated, but I was also rewarded with great Tamales too---the first I had ever made! It was the only thing that could have sweetened that memory because I was eating what I recall them eating those 53 years ago! How grateful I am to have run across your channel, but tonight I see something that my wife, kids, and grandson will love when I make it for them next! Carry on, and know you have a hungry, appreciative fan in Upper East Tennessee.
