I’m not sure if other people do this but I plug in my ps5 controller from a normal usb power outlet in a power strip. You don’t need to plug into a power bank or the ps5.

The Edge is really a superior controller. I bought mine when 2 weeks after getting my PS5 with the standard controller that came with it the standard controller started to drift (left joystick module of course). The Edge has worked really well for about a year or so (heavy use) playing approx 6-8 hours every day. Only recently it started to drift (Left joystick as usual). Looking for a replacement left joystick module but thing is there's hardly any available which is a bummer. The few scalpers who are selling are selling at 2-3x the regular price. No lie.

What I did I cleaned the thumb-stick (again) best I could with some canned air dust remover and a toothbrush. Also I adjusted the centre dot thingy area of sensitivity a bit further by 10. I don't know which one or perhaps both did it but haven't gotten any drift since. I'll keep in my the swapping though. That being said it's rather unfortunate at up to now in June 2024 official PS Edge stick module replacement are still unavailable. It's been at least 6 months+ now. That is baffling to my mind.

Yup. I did too. But I also bought 2 sets of extremeRate face and back plates. One blue set, one red. Reason being, is because I didn’t want to end up with the peeling rubber grip issue, which is more widespread than people realise. Just google it. Swapping out the plates mean I can preserve the originals in the box. Back plates have all the data info stamped on them and I didn’t want them ruined by the rubber grip peeling. If you’re like me and a) like to look after your stuff and b) have a degree of ocd, I advise anyone with this controller to do the same. Thank me later 👍🏼

Cross makes more sense than X because tye buttons are all shapes, not letters. X is an Xbox button. Playstation has a cross. I've never heard box though lol. It's just a square. Boxes are three dimensional.

I literally just bought one 2-3 days ago at my local game stop. I literally had 4 controllers and out of the 4, 3 of them had terrible stick drift. Right now if you have a bad crimson red controller (the one that looks kind of pinkish) game stop is giving you 35 dollars credit. How so? I find it useless and bought it also for HD2. I find the lack of four back buttons crippling. Also, profile switching requiring holding Fn and pressing another button is a deal breaker. @@maxmaxneolit for starters I curve the right stick added sum dead zone, the left trigger is more precise curved up with sensitivity up slightly to kill all dead zone in the left... Two profiles set up, one for machines ( left trigger is target, right trigger is reload) and one for bugs(left trigger is stims, right trigger is my alternative button to shoot when flustered) for you I think the best option would be to grow extra appendages so you won't have to lift your thumbs... Should work out for you.. Hope that helps.!

If you don't change your preset/ add a profile then it learns your reaction time and trigger sensitivity as you play...if I play long enough my R2 with the switch on normal start reacting like it was pushed down slightly pass the second line on the back but not quite down... Fun controller but it takes time learning you as you learn it...

dual sense edge was legit when i had ps5! my only complaint about controllers that come with higher analog sticks are they arent as wide or as grippy as kontrol freeks. sometimes i forget my right stick is higher cuz theres not that extra weight from the kontrol freek. unfortunately they dont make kontrol freeks for the razer v2 chroma so im stuck with the higher stick

I've had mine about 9 months. The biggest problem I have with it is the rubber grip on the inside where your fingertips lay is starting to peel off on the left side. Will probably contact sony soon and see what they say

Someone else posted but i can't find their comment. There are NO replacement joysticks available for this controller. DO NOT BUY THIS if you care about replacing the sticks when they will inevitably get drift in a couple months. They've been out of stock for at least the past 5 months. You can't find them anywhere except for used $45 on ebay. Because of this, I bought 2 regular dualsense controllers. Both got stick drift to the left after playing 5-20 hrs a week of rocket league for a couple weeks. After doing some research, there's been zero discussion on this issue from Sony. Some people are blaming scalpers but it's heresay unless proven.

I hate that they wont let you use ps4 controllers on the ps5 so you have to buy a bunch of new controllers. I spent 200 on the astro c40 a couple years ago and it's the best controllor I've ever used and is perfect for me, way more setup possible on the pc app and it has 4 back buttons, 2 profiles you can swap on the controller, and can swap betwen usb or wired on the controller so I use my pc and playstation at the same time basically. But playstation is greedy and "no haptics" is their excuse even though I turn it off in every game.

Buy a SCUF instead, the main selling point is being able to change out the joysticks but the replacements are only available like twice a year, if you're lucky. Stick drift is a little more delayed than normal, only took 9 months instead of 6 like my original. But I've been waiting 3 months for restocked stick modules.

I got the "Nacon Recolution 5 Pro" with Hall Effect sticks, which dont have stick drift issues. The controller also feels more acurate and responsive since you can setup the deadzone to 4%. I guess its nice of Sony that made it possibe to replace the sticks, but they ussualy start giving issues after 3 months of medium usage, and 2 stick costs 40 $/€. So if you replace them every 3 months it will cost you 160 $/€ a year. Maybe wait untill a manufacturer brings out replacable Hall Effect sticks, so you only have to buy them once.

I’m on my 3rd within 9 months , my first one my back right paddle just completely stop working after 3 months. My second one , the back left paddle would get stuck in position when I’d press it. Luckily I always get the warranty whenever I get a controller so able to just bring the broken one in and get a new. Only pay 35 dollars for the extra year warranty.

If you choose to go that route, yes. After having mine since release, there was a slight lift in mine but I bought a silicone cover for it when I noticed the peel. I just took the skin off after 6 months and I don’t even notice it anymore. I prefer to play with a silicone skin with grips as a personal preference, because I have big hands and like that extra comfort.

Hell no, stick with the regular Dualsense. You're getting no benefits by getting the DS Edge, since you wouldn't be able to fully take advantage of any of the pro features.

i have that problem too.i think that problem is only in the original analog grips,buy a fubber grip and it shouldnt peel and if it did peel then just put another rubber grip on it to replace the original

Rubber grips all peeled of and the shoulder buttons are intermittent not great build quality especially for the price point plus battery life is poor

Only way to update this controller is to hack it so the PS5 will allow you to use a keyboard with games that won't allow keyboard use but it's pretty much perfect. It won't stop it. But you can buy new stick for 20$ and replace the drifting one in few seconds. Better than buying entirely new normal controller

The problem with this controller is you can’t get the modules for 20 bucks .sony doesn’t stock them. At least for the last four months They haven’t had them. It a problem.

The only way I'm buying one of these is if a company starts making hall effect stick module replacements for the Edge. This is a defective product that Sony is selling knowing it will fail eventually and people will have to continuously give them money. Why are 3rd party companies making controllers with features that Sony's should've had from the gate?

Probably a spring just loosened. Happens to every controller, more on ‘adjustable hair trigger’ ones, because if you put it to very short distance there’s a chance it just popped off.

Very great controller just got one last Friday and it's amazing and another game it works well with is Gran turismo 7 especially those who like to drive in manual mode setting the paddles right it feels like your relly drive a paddle shift car so awesome 😎
