I buy the first 7. Nut butters I find are expensive with the exception of Peanut butter so I don't buy them weekly instead I would replace with Broccoli ( My No.8) 🥝 is my No.9 and my No.10 is Frozen vegetables or berries ( it may vary week to week).

Hey Alicia, may I suggest that you head to Trader Joe's for your organic nut butters. I'm a New Yorker as well and I also got tired of paying $20 plus for a nut butters, they offer good quality at wonderful prices. My 10 are; 1) lemons/limes 2) arugula 3) beans or lentils 4) berry's in summer, other fruits in winter 5) olive's or sun dried tomatoes 6) rice cakes, bread or matzo 7) herbal tea 8) trail mix ingredients (I make my own) 9) plant milk 10) grain/starch

Ello! Our favorites are quite similar to yours depending on the season and prices for organic. Grateful to have access to a wonderful food outlet that has lots of organic produce and dry goods. The items vary so it's best to be unattached to any shopping list and go by what looks vibrant and zippy. Green is my favorite color, especially in a vegetable. 💗😎

Thanks for the tips! My must-have list is quite similar although I typically rotate greens as I have a genetic condition that causes chronic pain and must be mindful of oxalates. Unfortunately, I am obsessed with Japanese sweet potatoes so I have to watch spinach intake :) I always have frozen peas on hand for vegan pesto and hummus varieties. Cauliflower is another staple... I spray with coconut aminos and throw in the air fryer. I also eat a TON of iceberg lettuce as my health issues make other greens difficult to digest unless they are completely pureed (and I love the crunch). Can't wait for the Whole Foods haul!

how do u make vegan pesto out of peas?
@alwaysneed2learn8065 жыл бұрын
@@amandawelch549 There are several varieties out there... The one I like consists of peas, basil and walnuts with lemon juice, garlic and nooch. I use recipes as "inspiration" rather than rule so I tend to get a little overzealous with my adaptations, but that's where I started ;)

@vanitytee01585 жыл бұрын
Things I buy weekly: organic whole milk (to make yogurt), power greens (spinach, kale and chard mix), cucumbers, lemons, ginger, garlic and onions, pasture raised eggs, mandarin oranges, apples, blueberries and blackberries, salmon, sweet potatoes (rotate between white, purple and regular orange), peanuts or almonds to make nut butter, and veg (broccoli, asparagus or green beans)!
I am not a vegan yet, so the 10 things that I buy every week are: eggs, cheese, onions, apples, bananas, greens of some sort, tomatoes, fresh herbs of some sort, whole grain bread, and beans or other plant protein. Slowly moving away from animal products.

$20 for organic almond butter it’s absolutely crazy. Target has it for about $10 and organic almond is the only ingredients. Almonds soaks up so much pesticides, because of their high oil content, it’s always best to try to get organic almonds.

-Spinach is good. Kind of... -Kale is kinda good... 🤷♂️😁😁 -Broccoli is def. something we need to be buying/eating on a very regular basis. Like, INSTEAD of oatmeal or bread, etc. -Sweet Potato... 🙄🙄🙄🙄 It tastes fine, but meh... -Lemons... Yep. 😁😬😁 -Apples can get a tad dull, to be honest... Its why its an off and on fruit for me, more or less, and I prob. eat less apples now than in the past. -Avocados, yep. 👍 -Tofu, tempeh, meh... -Nut butters are overrated... But I suppose they are economical, etc. -Forget the smoothie. Just eat the berries. 🤷♂️ You must be a vegan, or at least a vegetarian... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
