I had my surgery yesterday. That shower helped me feel so much better today and the pain meds. The Team of Doctors, Nurses and anesthesiologist everyone were amazing. I feel a difference. I am happy and Thankful. Thank God! Thank you for taking care of me. Everyone that’s going through this praying for you to not worry and you pray for yourself as well. Blessings and good health everyone.

Just so you know, not all recoveries are the same. I'm 73 and had a laparoscopic hysterectomy 3 months ago. I walked out from Outpatient in 4 hours. That evening I was walking around my house. I took 1 Oxy pill. The next day I decided that drugs were not for me. I started alternating Tylenol and Advil for 3 days. On the morning of day 4, I realized my pain level was more of an annoyance than anything, so there was no need to keep medicating, so I wrote to my doctor and said I was discontinuing everything. On day 2, I walked twice for 15 minutes. On day 3, I walked for 30 continuous minutes. Each day I walked more, maybe in two sessions, but increasing nevertheless. By day 7, I was up to one hour. On day 8, my sister and I went to a farmers market and then to two stores, and other than sitting for awhile to have coffee or being in the car, I was on my feet for 4 hours. I was tired when I got home, but not wiped out. I had prepared raw vegetable juice drinks in advance, and kept doing those plus really healthy food: no sugars, no alcohol, no beef, no white vegetables. By day 10, I was cleaning my house, just not vacuuming. Basically I was doing normal things except driving. I did take a stool softener on day 3. Do yourself a favor and just buy it. You'll only need one. Drink at least 10 glasses of water a day starting the day of surgery. Just one an hour - you can do it! I had very little bleeding; maybe just enough to spot 3-4 pads. By the end of 2 weeks, I was doing my usual daily 90 minute walks, and by the time I went for my 3-week checkup, my doctor said I could drive, swim, do yoga, lift weights - anything at all, and all the things I used to do, You cannot have intercourse for 8 weeks but you can still have clitoral fun! I've always taken good care of my body and am a breast cancer survivor. I meditate and have a positive outlook about everything. I was determined not to let this surgery set me back, especially after all the comments I heard about difficult recoveries. I had friends and family lined up to help me for 30 days, but after 4-5 days, there was really nothing I needed and they all felt like their only job was to insist I rest and stop moving around. My heart goes out to every woman who had a difficult recovery. We are all not the same. I'm sharing this to offer some tips on what helped me and can help you get through it easier, but if people are telling you (like they told me) " OMG, you won't be able to do anything for 6 weeks," just remember that each body, each health condition, each lifestyle, and each mindset is different. You are free to make choices and you can get through this!!! Listen to your intuition. Also, I heard about people who advised you to go on a liquid diet or to not eat very much for a few days before surgery and that is actually terrible advice. Your body needs energy and lots of nutrients to be strong and help you recover. You need the calories to do this. Eat the healthiest food you can in the week before to shore up your immune system and strength so you don't feel any more weakness or dizziness, which the anesthesia is going to do to you for about 3 days anyway. Also, to counter the nausea from the anesthesia, you need to eat good food! Finally, I also took CBD oil after the first week and that has documented benefits for countering pain and nausea. Just be sure it has THC in it or it won't be effective enough. Good luck! You can be strong and put it all behind you with mind over body!

I had the same surgery two weeks ago today. Those first few days are brutal, but through The Most High, and family support it helps. Doctor's asked me questions also and before I knew it, I was out. I woke up twelves hours later but I had no immediate pain. Pain started after I tried to move. My surgery started 7:30 am. My experience was better than I expected. Pain is unbelievable especially when I coughed. I was nautious about three times from meds, but I just mentally prepared myself as best I could. Today make 14 days and I must say, it's been a journey. I have that same spirometer. It helps with our breathing. Have to be used every hour a set of ten reps. It helps with your lungs due to the fact that you cannot exercise. I am thankful I had no gas, no constipation, like others said. I decided not to watch any videos due to everyone having a different experience. My first visit was a week and a few days ago. The bandage was taken off. Doc said that the incision has healed well, I just have to continue to do what I need to and don't do anything that may cause any setbacks. So far I am progressing very well. My doctor is the best. She said the surgery was very successful and that she felt all the prayers of persons praying while they were in the theater. I turned 48 one month and a week ago. This is my first surgery and I am blessed to have had such a positive experience. I have photos also of my organs and I go back in 3 weeks for another check up. It is a journey but all praises to The Most High for His peace that has kept me, and is keeping me through all of this.

This was very helpful. I am having this procedure completed this Friday. I am 41 and it will be my first surgery, and on top of that I am in the process of moving. At first, I didn't want to learn about any others' experiences because I was afraid that it would make me more nervous, but in actuality, seeing the variety of responses really helps! Hope you're doing well ad life has improved greatly for you!

I know this is quite a bit ago, but I would like to thank you so much for what you have done to produce this journey for others to hear about what you went through. I have went through and watched so many of them, as I am having a hysterectomy on the 6th of april. I did not have the labroscopy done to fully diagnose me with endo, but it runs so hardcore in my family and my mom, my grandmother all had theirs in their 30s. I am 30 and not a surgery i wanted to have, but figured, its going to get worse and the pain I'm already in, no point in two surgeries just take it. Everything you have said has been reassuring and is helping prepare me for what is to come, I cannot thank you enough for this information and all the tips. I'm sending nothing but good vibes your way and I hope you and your family grow and stay healthy and love each other with everything in your being.Thank you so much.

I had a partial hysterectomy in 2018, was a total of 5hrs in the OR due to severe scar tissue. The endometriosis was so bad, the surgeon said it was wrapped around my bladder and my kidneys. So by day 3, I was still in the hospital. I appreciate you sharing your recovery story with the world. I know once you fully heal, you will feel amazing, especially after battling endometriosis. Hands down best decision I could have made for myself after suffering with endometriosis for over 12 years. Take it slow, even on your good days. Continue taking it 1 day at a time.

I had trouble emptying it for about 10 days, I thought maybe the procedure damaged my bladder/and or nerves, finally doing better now. Also took me about 2 weeks to poop, I thought it was going to be horrible, so glad I was taking miralax daily, it wasn't too bad. I'm 44 and had the hysterectomy due to adenomyosis. Honey I feel you. The pain was so sharp. I felt like I had s knife cutting my abdominal and pelvic area. I had to drink my painkillers as soon as I started feeling that penetrating pain. I screamed, I cursed, I had chill's, head pain, etc. It was a nightmare. I didn't want to eat. Just gelatin, apple sauce (sometimes), Phazyme for the painful gas. Percoset and ibuprofen. It's not a good experience. But now that years have passed, and how I've been feeling ever since I was operated, I don't regret it cause all the pelvic pain and bloody periods has gone. And I feel great. You will too.

I’m glad that you are recovering well. I had an hysterectomy (robotic) surgery on the same day that you did and I also had one of my bartholin glands removed so I actually had 2 surgeries at the same time. I totally agree with the pain. It is definitely a different type of pain. I also do not like to take narcotics and after day 3, I opted to take Ibuprofen (800mg) and extra strength Tylenol. I was actually shocked at the amount of gas that builds in your body after this type of surgery but thank God, I was able to move my bowels by day 4 without any pain after taking healthylax. Thanks for sharing your story because it’s so natural to feel that “it’s only me” feeling. But I’m getting better day by day. As my doctor said, “make sure you rest”.

Great to see you, how things have been going, and that you are still taking the time that's necessary and doing what you must that will help you to heal better. The Bible says His strength is made perfect in our weakness. So I pray God's blessings of love and power upon your life in recovery and always, even as we see how strong you remain 😊 What you said about not having the strength to talk to people even though you appreciate them reaching out when you're in pain was so real and has been exactly how things have felt to me at diff times, so regardless of what specifically led up to a pain, thanks for that transparency and putting that sentiment into words. It's important to check in on people and consistently hope for better for each other but it's important to know that sometimes it does take more time to gain the energy to return and reciprocate it or even to extend it in the first place ❤

I just had my hysterectomy two days ago. I’m coping up well with aide of the Lord’s healing, my meds and the support of my husband, kids and family. I didn’t have nauseous feeling as I asked for the patch to put under the ear. I’m still sore and swollen but an abdominal binder helps. This is my first surgery and I am grateful for my doctor and the nurses who assisted me. Life is still beautiful.

I'm so sorry your experience wasn't an easy one. I had a hysterectomy around the age of 43 due to fibroid tumors. And like you I had previously had a procedure for an ectopic pregnancy leaving me with one fallopian tube. But my experience was different. My Dr explained to me that he was going to remove my uterus, remaining tube (i think he left the ovaries) ...vaginally with lasers and other special instruments. I was all for it because I realized I wouldn't have to worry about a scar. So he did just that. He said that he had a little difficulty pulling it through but not much different from delivering a baby. So the surgery was pretty easy. My recovery was easy. I recall having some abdominal cramps but not much different from menstrual cramps, and a sore vag.. I always throw up when there's anesthesia involved. It makes me super nauseous. But other than that I felt like a new woman. I would advise anyone faced with making a decision to have a hysterectomy to ask your doctor about the vaginal hysterectomy.

I hope you are all healed and living life to the fullest. ❤ I am 45 and had a hysterectomy last week and boy, am I going through it right now. I’m scheduled for a hysterectomy, but just my uterus for fibroids. I’m surprised they didn’t keep you overnight for observation. Where I am my dr said that’s standard. I do also live an hr from my hospital. Especially with all the pain you were in. Thank you for making this video. Very helpful
