He was chill in this video. You have barely seen him play. Texas Flood from this same co cert at El Macambo, among others, are ones you want to check out. He has never played the same song, the same way he played it before. This concert may be the greatest concert ever put on film.

Vaughan, is pronounced like Dawn, only with a "V". The thing about Stevie was that if you were a guitar player, he would make you either go to your quiet place and try to figure out what he did for the next 24 hours, or he made you put down the guitar forever, because he was that good! R.I.P. Stevie

VAUGHAN rhymes with yawn, fawn. He passed away at the age of 35, helicopter crash after playing at a concert with Eric Clapton. He is the GOAT. Pride and Joy, Look Little Sister, Texas Flood.are the next you should do. Jimi Hendrix, BB King were 2 of his idols. He got to play with BB but no Jimi. He did record Hendrix song Voodoo Chile using Jimi's wawa pedal. He asked Mr Hendrix for his permission to record it.

In 1983 I finished high school and moved from Fort Worth to Austin to go to The University Of Texas, where Stevie’s 1st album was playing everywhere. I was lucky enough to see him play many times over the next 7 years. Elvis had been dead 6 years, Hendrix 12, but Stevie’s older brother Jimmie’s band had opened for Hendrix a couple of times. I saw Stevie play twice with BB King, once with Buddy Guy.

Anybody yet mention that he uses 13 gauge strings, that he's in both the Rock N Roll and the Blues Halls of Fame, that he was high on coke and booze for this performance, that he took himself to rehab and came out better and stronger? He was flat-out amazing. Listen to any of his later 80s performances.

Welcome to the SRV rabbit hole! He will blow you away every single time! Texas flood El Mocambo is his (in my opinion) Iconic performance of "His Sound'- plays behind the back & all! I also highly recommend Life Without You live at The Capital Theater - song written for his Longtime friend Charlie Wirtz who had passed away. Live in Austin is also his cover of Voodoo Child by Hendrix and Look At Little Sister when he breaks a string & has the smoothest guitar swap ever & never misses a beat! Also some Incredible Blues performances to check out that he did with some of his Icons are: SRV with Johnny Copeland Live- Tin Pan Alley. SRV with Albert King live are: Don't Lie To Me, Born Under A Bad Sign and The Blues At Sunrise. Great Reaction Friends - hope to see you do more Stevie Ray Vaughan! R.I.P. Stevie - still loved missed & respected.

One of the greatest to ever play guitar. Man this channel is popping off, it's like watching a baby grow. 1k - 5k, 5k - 10k, then 10k - 20k, then 20k - 50k, then 50k - 100k and the rest is history, but never simple

BB King was one of Stevie’s idols and he was a Blues legend he was also humble and respected all the legends that come before him which they respected him in return . But sadly we lost Stevie on August 27,1990 in a helicopter crash at the age of 35

In 1983 I was watching that Gentleman live in Concert here in San Diego at San Diego State’s Montezuma Hall & being as blown away as you guys. He was taken way too soon only a short 7 years later. I’m 62 now, and so glad his legacy lives on through his music & videos. An enormous stage presence live , let me tell ya.😵💫👍. No one ever since has come close in my humble opinion.

Somebody will help me out because I'm having a brain fart but I believe it's Voodoo Child is one of them one of many but he breaks the string on the guitar keeps playing and switches guitar and doesn't miss a Beat but you just hit the tip of the iceberg with Stevie Ray Vaughan the man can play behind his back plays with his teeth on top of playing the thickest gauge strings of any guitars ever it's basically playing with the thickest bass guitar strings on an electric guitar what a beast

Stevie Ray Vaughan started playing guitar at the age of 7 but didn't really see success until 1983, Jimi Hendrix died September 18, 1970 around the Janice Joplin, Jim Morrison era. Stevie Ray's brother Jimmie Vaughan who is 3 yrs older then Stevie Ray had an electric guitar and Stevie Ray got a toy guitar on his 7th birthday but still learned to play Wine, Wine, Wine and Thunderbird by The Night Caps i think is amazing it self and Stevie Ray's older brother is an amazing guitarist In his own right and had a band called The Fabulous Thunderbirds gave Stevie Ray his electric guitar that he carved Jimbo on the back for Stevie Ray's first gig at a roller rink at the age of 10 with a band he joined called Krackerjack along with bass player Tommy Shannon in 1964. Stevie Ray put together a band called The Triple Threat Reuve in 1977 Lou Ann Barton was the vocalist for Triple Threat Reuve but left the band on Nov 24,1979 Stevie Ray took over vocals and in 1980 Stevie Ray changed the name to Double Trouble, Chris Layton joined Double Trouble on drums on September 10,1978, Tommy Shannon basses joined on June 23,1981 and Reese Wynans joined Double Trouble on keyboard on June 7,1985. Stevie Ray's career only span 7 years with the release of Texas Flood on June 13,1983 and in that 7 yrs he got alot of awards and became a public figure on the Blues scene with John Hammond signed them to a record deal with Epic records. On December 13 1983 Stevie Ray was voted Guitar Player Magazine's Best New Talent, Best Electric Blues Guitar Player and Best Guitar Album for Texas Flood making Stevie Ray and Jeff Beck the only 2 Triple Award Guitarist ever. On November 18,1984 Stevie Ray won a W.C.Handy National Blues Award, Entertainer Of The Year and Instermental Of The Year he is the first white person to win either and so many other awards but sadly he never experienced a #1 hit until 2 months after his death with Crossfire. On August 26, 1990 Stevie Ray went to East Troy Wisconsin to open 2 shows for Eric Clapton along with Robert Clay, Buddy Guy and his brother Jimmie Vaughan both shows sold out to 40 thousand fans. Stevie Ray came down from his hotel room and told his brother and the others that he had a weird dream, he dreamed that he died and was looking down at all these people crying, he said it was weird but he felt at peace. On August 27,1990 after Eric Clapton finished his last song they all came out and played Sweet Home Chicago by Robert Johnson, Stevie Ray boarded a helicopter back to Chicago that crashed into the side of a mountain and everyone on board were killed instantly do to pilot error. The pilot had just failed his test on using the gages on that helicopter that he never flew before AND never flew at night. Imo Stevie Ray Vaughan will always be the GOAT and he is sadly missed.

Is it the same era? No. Elvis was popular in the 50's. BB King was 50s, 60s, 70s. Stevie's first album came out in 1983, Elvis had been dead for 6 years at that point. BB King was still around but not very popular.
