You should like put some tubs that go down in to the ground like a tunnel system and I'd just make sure they the tubes are realy sturdy so you know the ferrets are safe

You are going to get annoyed with just a gate, the ferrets will stick behind them if it opens in, and run out if it opens out. Believe me. Also, if someone forgets to close it... instead of two gates, maybe a gate, and a stile for getting in and out quickly (we have lots of them in the UK, google stile, you could make a feature of it). Or a double gate system, so you go in the gate, there's another gate.

@@TheModernFerret Nevermind, but you'll see what I mean with the gate! I have six, I let them run around my garden but they kept scratching the kitchen door and when I opened it they'd all scramble in and inevitably one poops on the floor... so I built a little garden gate down the side path. It's no bother if you change your mind a stile is just some lumps of 2x4 and a bag of concrete, no biggy. We have those stiles in the UK because we have public footpaths, some are ancient, which gives right of way across private land. They're to stop some idiot leaving a gate open and letting all the livestock loose. Historically, there was a thing called "right to roam" or "everyman's land" which basically meant anyone could walk across a field as long as they weren't being a nuisance, then with the Enclosures Act the land barons took away common land and kicked people out, so over the years these public footpaths have been a compromise I suppose. Walk across, by all means, but keep walking!

Now my daughter wants Sims 4 pet expansion pack bc she thinks that would allow her to have these tubes and ferrets for her game. I'm going to have to make this happen one way or another. If you are willing to share the name of mod or how you made this happen, you would make three little girls very happy. We have a business of six fuzzy buddies! I'd also really love to know where to purchase tubes. I've patiently waited for a link for this item because I prefer this look to the colorful version from Kaytee. My husband said he wants to go ahead and finish the ferret room though, so I'm going to have to break down and accept the rainbow tubes across a wall :(

OH have you ever hurd of tumbled rocks??? Like they are super smooth and might make a really good accents also they are BEAUTIFUL, and river rock might make a good walkway

@@TheModernFerret oh not gems, that would be SUPER expensive lol like I guess agates are cheaper, but I was just talking about the regular tumbled rock, but river rocks are already smooth just from being in the river. there's tumbled glass too which is stunning but the "landscaping" tumbled glass is still a bit jagged where as polish and frosted is smooth but id imagine thats a bit expensive too because it has to be tumbled for several days

Hello , I have a question about my ferret, when I want to pet it , it bites me, what do you recommend I do ? Or is it just a behavior that he does because he is new to my home? Also, I almost always have him loose at home but he does not want to sleep unless i leave him in bus cage ,is that normal because they are not familiar with the house? Hey, I might have some helpful info for you! So if your ferret is young and a new addition, it probably hasn't/wasn't given the opportunity to learn bite inhibition (basically how hard is too hard to bite during play) with its litter mates. This is fixed with some easy training, I know Modern Ferret has a whole video about this that was just posted recently so I would recommend checking that out. They have another video up about bonding with your ferret, which would help them become more comfortable and loving towards you, their owner. It might take a little while for them to warm up but it is worth the effort! As for your other question, a lot of ferrets (at least in my experience) do prefer to sleep in their cage because it's where they feel safe and at home. That's not to say as they get more comfortable and adjust to their new surroundings, they won't start sleeping outside their cage. If they find someplace warm and dark and cozy they'll probably be very happy to snuggle down for a nap. Just be patient and let them take things at their own pace. Also if you're letting them free roam most of the time, make sure they have access to their cage whenever they wish to return. I have a ramp I made out of a cardboard box that allows them to come in and out of their cage during free roam time and usually when they're done playing they'll put themselves away. This is just to make sure they don't feel like they have to be out and exposed if they don't want to be, they still have access to their safe place. Ferrets tend to be very food-picky. Even Moose took a bit before he liked salmon oil. I recommend putting a droplet on their nose every couple of days so that they have to lick it off - they will acquire the taste in no time!
