I also think its interesting that names have such power and Scaramouche was never actually named by his creator. It's interesting that the traveler, someone from outside Teyvat, would give him his name. That seems very intentional. I won't pretend to try and connect the lore dots there but just "names are important regarding fate" and "this character was VERY POINTEDLY unnamed" are something to chew on.

17:40 I just noticed something. I think that the purpose of the titles in Simulanka is actually the total opposite. Giving them titles instead of names would render them free of the "Fate" of Simulanka, therefore being the only people who actually can fix things since everyone is stuck on their "tracks". Oddly enough, this parallels Teyvat. IIRC the only two characters whose data is not in Irminsul are Scara and the Traveler, who coincidentally *_don't actually have an actual name in Teyvat_* This could mean that in order to defy fate you must, or at least try to, erase the influence your name has on your fate. Oddly enough too, the Harbingers are known by their titles and not their names. While other characters are known by their names, the Harbingers aren't. Even Ajax is known more as Childe or Tartaglia than his actual name. Now, we take that information and add to it the information about Scaracat's story to preserve the information of the past timeline. Keep them in mind for a minute. I haven't played the game but, AFAIK the Otto guy from HI3 does all this nasty stuff in the story, usually in attempts to revive Kallen. And then there is some parallel universe shenanigans. And one very particular difference I noticed between Genshin and the Honkai Games is that the *_characters don't die._* (Flashbacks to Tingyun, Misha and Gallagher) So perhaps, Teyvat "The Ark", is similar to the Scaracat story. A world where data/memories is encoded (Irminsul, Ley Lines, everything is memory). Data about the people/characters in order to safely protect them until it can be used. And perhaps "Fate" is not a _program_ but a _protocol._ The protocol is meant to keep the beings within the ark safe and also to keep them in check. Because the beings in the world have personalities and free will, if they deviate from Fate, they stop being useful data and just become their own people. But if you just make the program strict, they stop being people at all. So, to fix the issue, the important characters are given Visions by the "Gods". Remember, all Vision holders are very unique, often extravagant, characters, and they receive the vision when following their "ambition". Or in other words, it facilitates the expression of their personality. It would make sense why things like dancing, fireworks and being an empty headed oni would earn a vision. And since their "ambitions" are sated, they have no reason to deviate from Fate, being content with their capabilities to express themselves easier. And, there's a big chance that this is an ACTUAL parallel universe, where each character is meant to be their own person and be similar but kind of different like Acheron said. But they are being forced to be something that they aren't in order to preserve data from a universe that isn't theirs. By someone with vested interest on keeping that info alive. Which would tie into the Gnostic concept of the Demiurge and the world being imprisoned. I think I went a bit too far.

It doesn't necessarily have to be either Aether or Lumine, although both names are valid to name him but it won't have a special dialogue regardless of which of them is the traveler, if it isn't the name you gave them in Teyvat.

In Simulanka the Gods don't speak to their creation in a long time. In Teyvat it is said that the Gods of Celestia are inactive. Simulanka Durin made the stars fall down because he missed his mother, does that mean that real Durin made something like stars fall to the world and that is why he was considered a threat? Maybe a Celestial Nail??? And the Traveller not being the Hero in Simulanka but the one that watches and helps the story unfold seems kinda like the spectator of the world or the witness. Does that mean that for the "fairy tale" of the real Teyvat to unfold it needs a "spectator" to be present?

I don't see many other non-wanderer fans pointing it out and it makes me happy someone else sees it! I think the best example of their fates tying together was shown in the event when mini Durin said how happy he was to be called his new name by his first friend. It definitely didn't help that wanderer looked in the direction of the traveler 😂 which makes me think about how important it must have been for the traveler to write wanderer's fate with his new name 🤔 then there's the whole thing with Xiao and how his former master had control over him because he knew Xiao's true name and how the traveler doesn't use their real name with the people of teyvat. So many juicy things from this event!

he didn’t rlly look at traveler. the thing is, he never had the name in the beginning and traveler wasn’t the first one to name him. he was named kabukimono first by the ppl in tatarasuna then named himself kunikuzushi then had his titles in the fatui. and even when traveler did name him, he doesn’t go by that name and lets ppl call him whatever (which led to hat guy).

Finally someone talked about this! I brought this up somewhere in a reddit post about Childe not showing up on Imaginarium Theater, and when they brought up the part about Childe sharing a name with Ajax the Hero, I remembered the bit in Simulanka story where Barbeloth talked about fate parallels and the consequences of having the same name as another. And that was when I realized that one unvoiced quest in the event that was actually a huge lore drop. And the fact that it only unlocks after learning the importance of names.. Sadly that quest was brushed off by a lot of people since it was unvoiced and therefore "boring". Plus storywise it was almost irrelevant to Simulanka, but said quest was heavily focused on the subject of names which was only brought up by the end of the event story. I bet this is gonna be a hint towards an important plot point that will be revealed in Natlan, given that the teaser was even called A Name Forged in Flames.

Um, I just having a realization If Wanderer was not given a name in the very beginning by Baal, because she "doesn't want to *interfere* with his fate" And yet, he was malding bc he's (ironically) felt abandoned by his creator that way. And if name bears fate, then we naming him is like, tied him with certain fate? "What does freedom really mean, when demanded of you by a god?" (Dainsleif, Venti, Traveler said this btw) (and this was hinted by Vennessa too) - I feel like this is another thing where the game give to us like that "get cursed if betraying the gods", yet the rate of that thing would happen isn't 100% (there are many occasions of people betraying the gods but all of them isn't guaranteed to be cursed) There's surely something more than this, What about constellation in compared to the name for fate? Is faking name/constellation on yourself really does something? Or is it *as if* you were free from your fate because, that's how you'd like to think? (History does not change easily, but *human hearts* can) I feel like things being predetermined in this game a bit too tricky than we might think.

@@matthewmalaker477 I don’t really remember too well since it been a couple of weeks, but from what I remember there was these two toy people next to a swing set you can talk to right after you finished the quest and they talked about how they should stay together but one of them said, “no, I have to continue the journey, it’s their calling” and how as long as their places to venture they will go their. And the other was this toy man next to a tree who wanted to meet his friend again but they were upset ( or stuck somewhere, I don’t remember),then you help them meet up and after that they talk about how they missed each other and how they have a lot to catch up on, basically they are staying together TLDR: the first quest is about two toys meeting and then one of them say that they can’t stay around, he has places to venture The second quest is about a toy trying to find their friend ( who was a flower) and after they met after a long time they stayed together

A even more interesting thing is Benares was Sirin's friend turned dragon when she got her authorities. Benares was following around Kiana until Mei beat her (Benares) and then she became Kurikara, if I'm remembering correctly. So human turn dragon who follows a girl who looks like the Sustainer because she has the same soul only for her (Mei) best friend/Girl friend to subdue her and remake her as her own summon. This seems closest to Scara helping Chibi Durin with the help of everyone else change form? So I guess they did retell the story alittle already, so maybe he will summon Chibi Durin in full adult size in Teyvat? If you see the cut scene with Scara and Nahida he's invisible there so we don't know how different he looks.

that dialogue about mirror of the real world and this video, it's all make sense that the world was named simulanka, simulanka probably derived from simulacra, word that is most commonly associated with philosopher jacque derrida's concept of the same name : simulacra and simulation. well, both simulacra and simulation are a copy, or imitation of something else. the difference is, simulation imitate or copying something 'real' or 'reality' or 'truth' e.g a fake plastic apple is a semblance of a real, organic, apple fruits, it is as fake as it gets, but still refer to something real, or like a map simulating actual landscape. simulacra on the other hand, is a copy or imitation of nothing, a semblance of no origins, a copy that isn't based on truth or reality, and depict something that either not original, or no longer original, thus blurring truth/real and fake/not real, for example like a fantasy map that is not resemble anything on earth. or, you know, like simulanka itself that isn't based on real place but a fairy tale story written by andersdotter (altrough a simulacra could have a hint to something real, like how simulanka's durin subtly depicting real durin even though he lives in a 'fake' world constucted from a fairy tale ). we all probably familiar with teyvat is a simulation/dream/bubble theory, but what if instead of a simulation, teyvat is actually a simulacra, a world that--like simulanka-- imitate neither'real' world or a world that is no longer real. just like how simulanka was based on a andersdotter's stories. what if teyvat are also a copy based on someone's story, or memory, of a world that is not exist, or perhaps not exist anymore ?

I have to wonder if the creation myth quest, specially with how it references The Stanley Parable (a game that exists entirely to lampshade and be very referential to gaming and game development as a whole) so heavily might in an of itself a reference to the development of the game and how many times some aspects have been rewritten, for example a lot of the leaks we got from fontaine which which seemed reliable enough seemed to paint the story as something of a recreation of the French revolution, down to the fact that we got some heavily underutilized areas like the underground of Fountaine that could have heavily played into that draft of the story

About Childe, I also want to say that for some weird reason, he is unable to come to IT (a place CREATED by the Hexenzirkle) after ACT II of the Archon Ques of Fontaine And while it may be because of tourism trouble, I also want to say he is allowed to go play card game. So I don't think it's linked to the fact he went to Meropide, but instead to his Vision losing it. Also, it is mentionned in the game that Ajax (or Aias, same name but in Greek) is a play, and while it's often overlooked, "Ajax" is also a play IRL that follow his death. I should also mention that Ajax is deluded by Athena, and did not just became insane by himself. So basically, Childe is fucked

I think it has less to do with the tourism thing (since literally Arlecchino can come and go as she pleases) and more to do with Childe’s vision malfunctioning. It was theorised that it may have something to do with his fate breaking away or no longer being dictated by celestial or the world because during one of the Narwhal’s attack, it broke through Childe’s constellation. Yeah, I see Childe may go through a lot once the story focuses on him. He has ties to Enkanomiya with his Greek name and the poem referencing him of being reborn as a holy infant and being a primordial human. Let’s not forget the abyss as well. Albedo may be involved because of the Primordial Human Project. And Wei’s theory about the Fatui resurrecting the 3rd descender or something similar with the gnoses with Childe as the vessel seems more than likely now.

The most disappointing thing is remembering that Simulanka is a limited time world. I love the world and I wish we could visit it whenever we wanted, but alas. I finally played the Wanderer story quest because of this event since I didn't want to meet him without knowing who he was now. He's still not my favorite character, but I like the lore surrounding the character. Funnily enough, I decided on his name before playing his naming quest and the name I went for was Kaisei, a word taken from the Japanese idiom "wake from death and turn to life" or "come back from the dead" but the word Kaisei can also sound like "good weather". A neat coincidence so it was kind of annoyed me that everyone kept calling him "hat guy" lmao.

Interesting you are eluding to that the endgame is that we bring back Earth. I have a question were does the traveller come in? Why are they in Theyvat at all is the homeland Earth? Because the game now takes way to many references from real history for it to not be a connection at this point it just becomes silly if there isn't. I don’t know that Teyvat is necessarily a dream, but I do think that Phanes reason for terraforming Teyvat and making it a safe haven for humans is tied to the fate of HI3 the thirds Earth. We know in HI3, all historical figures from real life are there, because they are usually Stigma’s. Could explain the female Hans Christian Andersen counter part, as people like Einstein, Tesla, and Shakespeare are all female in HI3. We also know that Earth was stuck in a 50k years samsara cycle for at least 3 cycles. The previous era to the one that Kiana, Bronya, and Mei lived in, was the one with the Moths and FlameChasers, and they found ruins on the moon from the previous era before them, who lost their battle to the Herscher of Finality. Makes me wonder if one of the era’s 100k years or longer before the events of HI3’s plan to circumvent the Honkai was to create an Ark, similar to the one Griseo used and go find a new home for the humans. Teyvat could be a reflection of HI3 from a civilization older than the previous era cycle that the MOTHs lived in. Maybe the reason that Phanes made Teyvat’s fate predetermined was to keep the humans of that world from garnering the attention of the Honkai. Obviously whoever created Irmisil had extensive knowledge of The Imaginary tree, as Irmisil is like a mini version of it, much like if Genshin is an Opera, Similanka is a music box. It could also explain why characters in Genshin look like counter parts to HI3 characters as well, and their cultures reflect HI3 Earth culture if they were made from the DNA of pre-100k humans from HI3. Anyhow that’s the only reason that I can think that Phanes created a fate locked prison planet for the residents of Teyvat, to keep them from garnering the attention of the Imaginary Tree which would trigger Honkai eruptions. It could also explain why some knowledge is forbidden and why past technological advanced civilizations of Teyvat that mess with forbidden knowledge get nuked by the heavenly principles. Just my thoughts on how Genshin could fit into the larger Hoyoverse. I’m probably wrong but as someone who loves HI3 and it’s Lore, it’s fun to think of how they might be connected.

You seem to misunderstand what the imaginary tree is. It is an analogy used to explain the universe where GI, HSR and HI3rd take place. In the imaginary tree or universe, the developers based it off the Many Worlds Interpretation where you essentially have many worlds within a universe that have similar people with similar fates. For example, Acheron and her planet Izumo being very similar to HI3rd's Raiden Mei and Earth. Every branch has a leaf which can represent not only singular planets, but whole star systems also. It really has nothing to do with Honkai. In fact we learned in the end of part 1 in HI3rd that the Honkai itself is energy that was manipulated by the Cocoon of Finality. The theory of the era before the flamechasers one essentially making an ark that found teyvat is actually something I never even thought of. Could explain who K.K is from the old Traveler character card from before GI released. Though I feel like GI will likely make connections to HSR instead due to the similarities of The Trailblaze path and the Traveler.

I know that your video is 2 months old. 😅 But I just wanted to kindly note that not only Collei was there (which made me very happy, I love Collei!🥰) in Simulanka at the end, but also Kaeya 🦚 and Jean 🦅. The two could be found at the tavern in the Forest of Blessing who give the ink and life to the paper residents. Since the two of them are there, they probably had one of the books in ther hands too. As far as I know Jean also loves reading books, although more legends. In one of her voice lines she told us if we wanted to read the legend about a Heroic King of Khanriáh, so it makes sense to me why she is there, she probably has the book and just want to read it. 👍 And Kaeya, (✨ my absolute favorite character and my main character for the rest of the game✨), was also there. Unfortunately, I can't remember now if he loves reading. But he is often with Klee and protects her and play alot with her together. Maybe he had the book in his hand together with Albedo and Klee and that's why the three of them went into Simulanke. Just my idea. Otherwise I can also imagine that he was just curious. 💙

I have a good theory regarding Durin of both worlds... The toy Durin have scales that turn objects to blocks, right? If my understanding is correct, it reflects to Teyvat Durin's poison. Also, lore stated the Teyvat Durin wasn't evil, just misunderstood as well due to its massive size and poison it emanates. If the fate of those 2 truly reflects each other, it might return as mini Durin as well.

Colli and Wanderer both have another awful connection. They were both tortured by El Docttore during his “research”, prior to them both becoming the better, stronger characters they are now in the game. I would love to see them band together to make sure Docttore gets his. Also Lumine is the Ballerina to Wanderer being the Soldier in the fairytale of The Steadfast Tin Soldier. As Durin has become mini Durin due to Wanderer’s compassion and wisdom, perhaps the ending of the story was changed for the better in mini Durin’s parallel life. I hope there will be a change in the Story of the Steadfast Tin Soldier, as both the Soldier and the Ballerina die at the end of that fairytale! Wanderer is becoming a hero. Though he still has to make up for things he did centuries ago, it doesn’t mean he is not repentant and trying to find the truth and balance in his life. With Nahida’s help and taking classes in Sumeru, his character story arc has really changed. I hope that neither Lumine or he dies and a better parallel path (life) can be found. A character who has NEVER said he’s sorry or done anything to actually repent for his misdeeds is Childe (Ajax). He fought the Narwhal, because Skirk his master forced him to and he enjoys fighting and war. Besides, do you really think HoYo will end this game? This is their cash cow! They have made billions off of this game! I could see them ending some of the storylines, then rolling it into another game or Honkai Star Rail. But really ending the game? Hhmmm? 🤔
