Idk why i plugged the position into the rotate node, it doesnt need to be there. I was just going fast and forgot about it.

Great stuff! I've been putting geometry nodes on side, but watching videos like this give me the inspiration to dive right into it!

1:47 - i have to pause the video before it even really gets started to say DUDE! I LOVE YOU! 😂 I'm embarrassingly new to 4.x because I only a couple of months ago FINALLY got a computer that can run anything past 2.79 ... I've been trying to keep up though. And now that I'm getting serious again for REALS - even with all the new advancements I spent most of the past two days fighting with the SAME particle system limitations and drawbacks that were there as long ago as 2.35... 🤬 In just the first few seconds you already showed there's possibly a way to do what I want that I never could. (guided particle systems with fine path- and timing- control. I'm having more fun than ever! THANK YOU! 😻👍

1:15 - "Turns out you can kinda do a lot with that functionality." LOL, understatement of the century! I love your style; no joke.

The things you say and the way you express them are incredible. The most understandable and clear tutorial I have ever watched. You have prepared a very nice resource for beginners. Congratulations.

thank you joey, super helpful as always! how might i control the rate at which particles spawn? like if i only wanted 5 on screen at any given time

what if we wanted to make some points close enough to the start control point to a curve to be "sucked up", travel along the curve, and then "spat out" its end control point

Great stuff! The explanation of every node/technique with context of how they can be used really helped in wrapping my head around Sim nodes. Do you know of any way to bake Geo nodes animations to keyframes? As in each instance becomes an object with keyframes on position, rotation, scale. Like the Cake Particles add-on for the old particle system, which I want to transition away from 😅

Can you skip frames inside the Simulation Zone ? For example I want to spawn the points once every 5 frames instead of every 1 frame

So, if I wanted the points to be attracted to a complex mesh, how would I do that? It seems like the node set up is the points itself, whereas i'm trying to apply those points onto a mesh that moves. I'm a complete noob with geo nodes sorry
