I've LOVED Sinatra since I was about 13. Now I'm 69 and I still have probably over 100 of his songs on my iPod. To me he will ALWAYS be immortal. One of the highlights of my life was when my husband took me to see Sinatra live in about 1983.

I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking to Sinatra five times when I lived in New York. We were not nuddies or anything, but he always recognized me and was very friendly, introducing me to his wife Barbara once. The segment in the recording studio aleays brings tears to my eyes. Sinatra was and still to this day, the most generous person in the entertainment industry. Having personally helped raise and donate 1Billion$ to charities and regular folks all around the world and that was from the 50s-1990s. His manager recalled only after Frank died (because he never wanted any credit or attention for it), he used to send anonymous checks for 5K, 10K and more to complete strangers bc he saw them on the news in a tragic situation. The checks had a company name on it so they never knew who sent it. When boxing champ Joe Louis became ill, Sinatra covered all of his medical bills and also paid Sammy Davis Jr's 1M+ tax bill to the IRS so he didn't lose his house. He performed at prisons for the charity Dismas House, to give the inmates a sense of their humanity back(seen in this video) . He was the first major white performer to stand up for black musicians in the 40s, when they weren't allowed to stay at certain hotels or play at some venue. He had the clout to tell those places if they weren't allowed, he wouldn't perform either. The stories go on and on. Name anyone in the business since then who could match him.

Never say never. Sinatra’s popularity has declined over the past few years as well as Elvis. All due to the majority of their fan base passing. Their music will never be as popular or maybe even well liked as during the peak of their popularity. There was a huge huge Sinatra music collection (some rare one of items) that originally sold for several thousands of dollars after his passing. It recently sold again and failed to draw any bidders but one individual who paid pennies on the dollar from its original selling price.

Watching Sinatra ( and drinking in every note) in the studio ( especially on the classic “ It Was a Very Good Year”) is a singular experience- he is so compelling and charismatic with his trademark shoulder shrugs and fractional head movements to accompany his deeply moving and personal vocal performance, you can see in his eyes how much he’s enjoying his absolute command of the song, the lyric, the melancholy wistfulness that he communicated better than anyone before, or since. Sinatra was, and always will be in a category of his own, as it should be.

The amazing magic that makes one a LEGEND is the ability to touch a life, even after his own; Sinatra’s legacy still resonates with even the youngest performer simply because of his ever- evolving relevance. His conviction was conveyed through a smiling, eye- piercing charm that was truly second to none. I admire his craftsmanship and must say that he truly deserved the title The Voice. It matters little whether you liked Sinatra or not, there is no disputing that he WAS the singing legend of the 20th century! A talent beyond reproach, and a pretty good guy, unlike most people realize, he gave away literally millions of dollars to help people in need, often those he never knew but just heard they needed help, and of course he helped his friends, band members, as well. A perfectionist whose talent demanded that, and in life in general also. Those days of the great talents of that era are gone and so far, very few have come forth to replace them today. We will always remember them for what they gave us then, and now, with their music recordings and live performances, now on the advanced technology equipment that enhances them to the perfection Sinatra would have condoned!.

I was only a child, (4yrs) when my dad ,who was a huge Sinatra Fan, was playing Sinatra songs. I'm positive i was a fan at that age. Love listening to him even now. Frank's voice was like silk, smooth and soothing. I love all kinds of his music . The Swinging, was a huge favourite as was, The Rat Pack. I honestly believe he was the greatest singer ever. this is so cool to watch. We miss this kind of documentary made at the time an artist was in action, specially the old school artists. We listen to their finished music, watch their finished films but have no idea of the human and work behind it all. I am not even a Frank's fan but I am learnig to admire him lately. I thank those who had this idea all those years ago and thnk you for posting. I always wondered that there should have been done this kind of documentary with Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire, showing their everyday rehearsals, creations and etc.

He said it wasnt fair to dean that they never complimented his work! Dean would have never reunited with Jerry on the telethon if he didnt love him as much as he did it was wonderful to see that. They loved each other very much, Jerry had a great work ethic he wanted things done right, everyone gets angry including you sir and I'm sure your stress was not half as much as Jerry's he was not a maniac he was a wonderful human being and humanitarian, how much money did you raise for a great cause, or sick kids I'm thinking none! And his kids all had trust funds and lived a great life, I see nothing wrong with him leaving his estate to his wife and daughter, Jerry is a wonderful kind hearted man and I know he is resting in peace now. Half the world loved Frank Sinatra and half the world didn't, were critical and jealous of him as competitors are wont to be, but there is NO denying that he was an incredible musical artist, his demand for appearances and his record sales showed that, his recordings are STILL selling, while fads like Elvis, the Beatles, and other singles as well as combos gradually have faded much more. There were other great singers like Vic Damone, Perry Como, Matt Monro and a couple of others who were also great singers in that era, but most couldn't really compete with Sinatra, and FS won the limelight over others. Jack Jones is one of the few who lasted, but he needs to retire if he hasn't already, as his voice is failing him. In the music business, you must know when to hang it up, but many still go on long after they should have stopped performing. When Sinatra had a memory lapse in singing the lyrics to a song at the end of his career, he KNEW it was time to hang it up and he did. But then, he was a perfectionist and could not stand mistakes! Others deal with their errors, laugh it off and go on, but not Sinatra!

The three of them together, Sammy, Frank, and Dean, were so damn good. I don’t even listen to that kind of music. More of a Beatles/Rolling Stones man myself. But I think maybe I’ll give it a try.

It took about 50 years of age to appreciate Mr. Sinatra and I believe that he is one of a kind, the greatest singer/entertainer ever. There are still radio programs in my area that are nothing but two hours of nothing but Sinatra. I don't know of any other singer/entertainer that you could do that with. And I think that 20-30 years ago there were 4 hours programs of nothing but Sinatra.
