Since It’s the Best Size, Let’s See 5 Different Ten Oz Silver Bars

I believe the ten ounce silver bar is one of the best ways to stack silver. I recently bought a new ten ounce bar from Pamp Suisse. In looking at my stack, I realized I now have five different brands of ten ounce silver bars. All unique and special in their own way. So I will show you one of each brand and compare and contrast the different ten ounce silver bars.
Do you prefer 999 or 9999 fine silver? Silver bars or silver government bullion coins?
I found that buying a silver kilogram bar from the Germania Mint was a great way to get one of the lowest premiums or the most silver ounces for my dollar. But there are smaller sizes too, with the ten ounce silver bar one of the best sizes. How do the premiums for the silver bars stack up the premiums for an American Silver Eagle?

Britannia’s are always high on my list. The RCM is very close though. I do think some of the silvertown poured bars with burnished finish rank high as well.

That Brushed cast bar is very, very cool. But I can't answer the question. I like them all for different reasons. The wooden rule, is cool too. I havent seen one in years.

Pamp and Germania are both great. Good analogy- COA is like a clamshell, but the Germania has the cert in the wrap so I would go with that of this bunch.

First majestic I prefer. The company is one of my largest stock holdings. My philosophy is I'm buying their product funding and supporting the company. In return their stock goes up which benefits me. Plus the stock holder benefit first majestic offers.

I keep all my bars in capsules. The generic bars do fin in them that great but if you grind out the little tabs in will almost close.

I should have put the Britannia in a capsule *before* I got fingerprints on it and it tarnished itself. It’s not a coin, but I would hate to clean it and kill its shine with a cleaning solution.

i think the Britannia bar is the best, with most curb appeal, closely followed by the Royal Canadian mint bar. I have both, and think they are the best looking bars that should give you a little extra premium back when you go to sell.

With the exception of the First Majestic bar, I consider those all to be "fancy" bars. I don't have a lot of 10 oz bars but the ones I do have tend to be cast or poured. I only really buy 10 oz bars when they're on sale. I have a lot more 5 oz bars because then I could get a lot more varieties. Problem with FM is the shipping is a little high. I have a couple 5 oz FM bars. I've been waiting for them to get their half-ounce rounds back in stock so I can take advantage of no extra premium.

Admittedly my bars are on the fancier side. There was a one day coupon at First Majestic recently which I just missed. There is an email alert there for deals, but then you can’t miss the one day deal!

The best silver bars in terms of design are the Pamp Suisse Lady Fortuna bars. I also like Johnson Matthey bars, Royal Canadian Mint, First Majestic, Scottsdale, Sunshine Minting, Argor Heraeus bars, Perth Mint bars and Geiger Edelmetalle (those square bars that have a house on them - I don't know what they are called) . Just my opinion.

I started out stacking for weight so I went with the Sunshine 10 oz bars due to the security feature. Then I switched to the RCM and Britannia 10 oz bars which are in my "NOT FOR SALE" box if I were to sell any of my bullion. I leave them in their original factory wrap, but I might capsule one each just for display.

yes, a mint (fresh/new) PAMP bar is lush (lustrous). 10 ozrs are a hot topic right now amongst anyone who considers the trade-off between value and liquidity. Lets hope they don't start bumping up the premiums. The makers do need to consider pouring bars that are uniformly thinner though, to combat the fakers by making them easier to assay with precious metal verifiers. This is one value of silver coins over bars.

They might. Not sure if the Germania bars are milk spotting under the plastic wrap. But maybe rounds/ coins are more prone. Something to do with annealing (heating) the blank planchettes prior to pressing coins. And wash used afterwards that leaves residue that eventually milk spots.

Depends if you are in UK, USA, or someplace else. I am in USA and bought it from APMEX in USA 3 years ago. If it’s in stock, that’s a good place to look.

Its really hard to chose a favorite. As a collector my favorite would be the Geiger for sure otherwise any of the rest are very desirable bars in my opinion. The Pamp poured/cast bars are quite disappointing considering they have other very nice designs. I myself only own one 10 oz RCM bar and two 5 oz Silvertown bars. STEADY STACKIN

@@SilverHeist I think I’m getting decent prices - usually $2-3 less per face than I see from all the online bullion dealer prices - usually works out to about 10-15% premium above spot - not the best but not horrible with eagles going for 30-40% premiums lately. Curious what everyone else is seeing locally for junk silver prices….
