Big Bear Lake , dare I say the most beautiful lake in southern California? Snow Summit was my second home back in the early 90's when I was in my teens and 20's snowboarding. Now I'm in my early 50"s and enjoying the 4x4 life. Sin City Outdoors content never disappoints!

You can call it a hidden gem because most folks who know it exists aren't keen on taking one of the three highways to get here, and others either don't have the correct clearance under their vehicles and or "stomach" to use the backrooms while they're open (late may to mid October) to bypass the folks who aren't willing to use the turn outs and right lane for vehicles wanting to pass at speed (or more). Yep, our little valley is a hidden gem of its own kind alright😊😂❤❤

Really, really enjoyed your video so I had to subscribe! Yeah, Big Bear is our old stomping grounds. As a youngster, I used to come up here during the summer and winter. That was in the 50’s and 60’s. I joined the Air Force in 1968 during Vietnam and after I retired in 1990 l began to revisit Big Bear with my beautiful wife and four young children. We loved coming here because we love the mountains, the lake and the great fishing. So many fond memories, l could talk for days about them! Your video was a perfect reminder of these memories. Thank you so much!!! Dan Suzuki, Retired USAF and Vietnam Vet. P.S. Although we live in Southern California, we also spend a lot of time at our place in Las Vegas (Summerlin). We hope to fish Lake Mead!!!

In 1954 my parents built a house at Big Bear near Fawnskin. I was 9 years old and for many years spent alot of time with family there. Caught a lot of fish there, mostly trout and have great memories growing up there. As an adult I moved out of state and hadn't been to Big Bear for a long time until about 15 years ago. Was amazed at the amount of development and growth (a little sad to) that has taken place. One thing that looked pretty much the same was Fawnskin with it's little market, where we used to buy velveta cheese for bait, and the few stores. Many good memories made at Big Bear.

I like the fact that you show us some history of the area that you are at. You even gave me a fish filet lesson and show what lure or bait you used to catch the fish. The only part of your adventure that I wouldn't like to do is the dawn to dusk fishing. It reminded me of my dad and my uncle going out fishing all day and my brother and I were trapped in the boat with them. I much prefer to fish on shore for an hour or two and then explore the rest of the day. So, I will watch your channel instead. By the way I see that you have nearly half a million subscribers. It's a type of Freshwater Blenny. They aren't native to North America, but they are a domestic fish sold for home aquariums. There are several dozen variations in coloring and dorsal fin arrangements and they are scaleless. Many variations do look like the Mud Skipper or Goby with eyes located high on the head and similar pectoral fins used to "walk" along the bottom, but unlike the Mud Skipper, the Blenny doesn't venture out of the water. I'm guessing this was someone's pet fish that was "freed" when they got tired of maintaining the aquarium.
