Dude your right I used to live in Vegas Decades ago and we were caught out in the middle when a storm closed in the swells were very big large and they were breaking over the bow of my 16 foot sea ray bow rider it was wild and scary at the same time.

Now that the water is so much lower than when I left in 2012, I imagine getting to the spot I fished wouldn't be possible. Where the Las Vegas Wash dumps into the lake was shallow and muddy back then, but produced some of the nicest land locked stripes I've ever caught.

As a native born Vegas person who loves fishing, I would love to meet you guys or even go fishing with you all. I personally have only do bank fishing since I don't have access to a boat and I harvest what I catch but never take more than I can eat in a single meal for myself and maby a couple others if the go with, I personally never freeze any meat I harvest it is always eaten the same day it is caught. It is strict catch, clean, cook for the most part, and sometimes on site if I camp out. But if I still have time to fish after I catch maby 2 or 3 for myself, I will catch and release until I actually need to go home.

I am a 45 year Bass Fishing nut, Fished 2 tournaments where 1 person died and 1 severely injured....The one that died had a Heart Attack fell out of the Bass Boat.....Lifeline Helicopter found him after that tournament (Not wearing a vest) The other fell out of the boat and the prop sliced her shoulder. She got up as the boat started the hole shot.............. (Luckly, she was wearing a vest).................These 2 incidents happened at much smaller lakes in San Diego (San V and Hodges ) in the early 80's.............Question to you, is why aren't you guys wearing a vest? Don't be a statistic......

hope your brother/uncle has a speedy revovery...... that's no fun.... had 2 heart attacks back in the spring both of which I had to be resuscitated then intubated for 2weeks and in hospital 2mo.

I soooooo miss temple bar. I had a home there and sold it about 5 years ago. I got too old to get to the water without a scooter. My mom won a giant bath towel for a picture she took in a competition in the 80’s. (She’s NOW 80!) It’s on the wall, back by the bar. If you want any pictures from when the spill ways were opened and pictures of the ice house surrounded by sand bags, let me know. I have some amazing historical pictures. What a great time. I’ve eaten more bass out of that lake that I wish I hadn’t… haha!!! I have pictures from BOTH times the spill ways were opened. (Edit)
