Jeremy souls never fails to amaze with music. His music is stuff of legends. Still remember most of( if not all) music pieces he wrote. With Skyrim he really outdid himself. Can't even pick which game soundtrack I like since all are so majestic. Skyrim is the first than comes neverwinter nights and first harry potter games.

My hat goes off to Jeremy Soule for creating one of the greatest soundtracks of all time. Arguably the best game soundtrack, it is full of legendary and majestic pieces that compliment the game perfectly. I have many fond memories of Skyrim, having reached level 81 1/2, and exploring the entire realm. The music to go along with the all those great memories is so perfect, and I hope you enjoy the wonderful emotions this mix will bring you. This may sound odd but the thing that most stands out in this soundtrack is the brass section. I've heard other great string and choir compositions in epic/fantasy genre but its the horns and trumpet sections that add a layer of majesty and gravitas that no other instrument can add. Without them, this would have been just another great fantasy OST, instead it's legendary. Anyone agree?

I'd have to say there are three great video games made in the last several years which have soundtracks which are equally strong contenders for the best video game soundtrack ever: Skyrim, Skyward Sword, and Journey. Each is a masterpiece in its own way: Skyrim's is explosively epic, Skyward Sword's is the well crafted result of 25 years of adventure, and Journey's is sheer majesty. All three represent the pinnacle of video game music.
