She called attention to violence without being violent herself, and when millions of eyes were watching. And she stood her ground until she had a breakdown and was subsequently proven right that she wasn't alone. Now I'm not a Christian but I respect the *hell* out of someone who can do that and speak to tensions between faith and the institutions that purport to be its sole source, not to mention the long conspiracy of silence. Few people can say they've done the same. And at the end of the day, no amount of bickering over labels will appreciably change the value of doing the right thing.

I totally agree. I was brought up Catholic, but I cannot abide by anti-abortion rules that came from an all male entity. I also do not believe in confession to a human. I think everyone can have a relationship with a higher power and speak directly to God. I believe confession was established in the extremely early days in the religion, and primarily to accrue information to use as blackmail if need (much like Scientology). Confession should be removed from Catholic Church doctrine.
@angiepittman57 жыл бұрын
Bernadette Carter I agree w/ everything u said here w/ exception of "cannot abide by anti-abortion" but admittedly & regrettably I use 2 hold that view due 2 in my youth- ignorance of t.v. feminist programming; to abort is definitely murder to which I'm in no position to judge personally, but divinely, one needs to never abort & or should repent of t/sin of abortion.

Noe Berengena actually that what Islam teaches, the word Islam means ( submitting your will to the creator alone ) a Muslim is someone who submit ( worship) the creator alone with no partners or mediator, Alhamdulillah ( thank God ) Sinead accepted Islam now, May Allah bless her, { Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest( peace)in the remembrance of Allah, Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest (peace)} { And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind.He will say, "My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?" It's interesting that people can't see the difference between religion and God. Also, Catholic means universal, so that may help some of you understand Sinead a little better. The things she said are true and not contradictory, but the constructs of religion that most have been raised with don't allow you to think on your own. What she's saying is very easy to understand. It's strange that so many people are confused by her statements.

Sinead is fighting a lot of things ... on one hand she's determined to fight the evils of organised religion, on the other hand she's fighting her own mental frailties, her fear of loneliness and being ostracised and the bad portrayals by the media ... she's beaten down and battered for her own complex personality where some aspects of her personality threaten other aspects of her personality, her weakness ... there are many people in the world like her who struggles to stand up for what they believe in but are at the same time fighting with themselves against their own frailties .. not everyone is lucky in life where all the aspects of their personality can work together and achieve a harmonious balance to help them further their ambitions in life ... I am like Sinead too but like a good warrior the only way to forge ahead is to grow and learn both about the world and about ourselves in order to look for that elusive balance that facilitates that great goal of the heart ..

whatthe That's not a defence of Islam or any other supernatural belief. That's a poor attempt at an insult. Unless you can demonstrate that ANY of the 3,000+ gods are real we can dismiss all religions. Unless you can further demonstrate that Allah is real, and that Muhammad is his "messenger", as well as the koran is a true representation of his will, we can further dismiss Islam. Can you demonstrate the truth of any of islam's claims? Of course you can't; that's why you freaked out.
@BatTaz195 жыл бұрын
@whatthe Once again you have failed to offer any defence for your supernatural belief. The simple fact that there are thousands of different religions, claiming thousands of different gods shows that Faith is not a reliable path to Truth. Even those who believe in the same god can't agree between themselves! It's impossible to take you seriously. But I don't entirely blame you; Islam carries the death penalty for Atheism and Apostasy. Yup. If you look at the data, in poorer countries, religion is more widespread/there are more religious people. Ancient Exercise In Islam, any relationship outside marriage is haraam regardless of the parties. Islam recognize marriage only between a man and a woman. But Islam does not punish people for their tendencies and desires, but for their actions. But this does not prevent anyone from being a Muslim. I hope I have answered your question. سلام

@@ancientexercise8973 ..No its against Allah 's orders ..But Islam doesnt rebuke the gays like other religions ,Allah SWT orders to deal with them in a logical and kind manner like Prophet Lut ( PBUH) who even offered his own daughters to make them let the male guests go away ..Punishing them is the authority of Allah Swt alone , muslims are ordered to advise them and hate the act but Not the people ..But most muslims act opposite to that and thats sad !! I consider myself an atheist as i do not believe in any god/s or deity/s however i like Sinead O'conner's view on this. You do not need churches and buildings, and popes, bishops, priests, etc.. There's this whole system and hierarchy with fancy labels and authoritarian positions, but at the end of the day, the belief in god is a personal belief, and if people so choose they can pray in their minds and hearts, regardless of where or with whom they pray. Religion is a business. It is a money machine, and a power structure. It is filled with corruption and perversion, and serves no god. It was pretty obvious how the guy interviewing her wanted to shut her down, and shut her up as quick as possible, before people actually realize she is right, and that god is in your heart, not your fancy building structures. The more people realize that popes and priests hold no power or privilege in the spiritual realm, the more they will lose power in this world. All the money and influence put into churches and church leaders...if the people saw how unnecessary it was, they would stop feeding the money machine aka religion. So while i don't believe in god, i have nothing against the hypothetical concept of a god, it is simply religion i want to see gone. Religion has caused this world more damage and hurt than anything else. and while i don't know if god and religion will ever be separated, i hope it is, as the more people keep god in their hearts, and private belief, without supporting the corruption of religion the better off we will all be as a result. There should be no religious leaders, and no power or money in faith. It should simply be a belief, not a system.

Islam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100% system of life. Islam has religious, legal, political, economic, social, and military components. The religious component is a beard for all of the other components. Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious privileges. When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the other components tend to creep in as well.. Here’s how it works: As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will for the most part be regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. It is a trick. United States - Muslim 0..6% Australia - Muslim 1.5% Canada - Muslim 1.9% China - Muslim 1.8% Italy - Muslim 1.5% Norway - Muslim 1.8% At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs. This is happening in: Denmark - Muslim 2% Germany - Muslim 3.7% United Kingdom - Muslim 2.7% Spain - Muslim 4% Thailand - Muslim 4.6% From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal food (clean by Islamic standards), thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims.They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves - along with threats for failure to comply. At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world. When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris, we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam, with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections. FRANCE After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues. Think what is going on in Turkey now, after the so called coupe attempt. At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels. After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim. "The Immigration and Nationality Act passed June 27, 1952 revised the laws relating to immigration, naturalization, and nationality for the United States. That act, which became Public Law 414, established both the law and the intent of Congress regarding the immigration of Aliens to the US and remains in effect today. Among the many issues it covers, one in particular, found in Chapter 2 Section 212, (28), (F) is the prohibition of entry to the US if the Alien belongs to an organization seeking to overthrow the government of the United States by 'force, violence, or other unconstitutional means.' This, by its very definition, rules out Islamic immigration to the United States. Islamic immigration to the US would be prohibited under this law because the Koran, Sharia Law and the Hadith all require complete submission to Islam, which is antithetical to the US government, the Constitution, and to the Republic. All Muslims who attest that the Koran is their life's guiding principal subscribe to submission to Islam and its form of government. Whether Islam is a religion is immaterial because the law states that Aliens who are affiliated with any "organization" that advocates the overthrow of our government are prohibited." Can a Muslim be a good American? Theologically - no, because his allegiance is to Allah. Religiously - no, because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam (Qur'an 2:256). Scripturally - no, because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Qur'an. Geographically - no, because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day. Socially - no, because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews. Politically - no, because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders) who teach the annihilation of Israel and the destruction of America, the great Satan. Domestically - no, because he is instructed to marry four Women and beat his wife when she disobeys him (Qur'an 4:34).

Islam is "the natural conclusion of any *intelligent* theologian's journey." she said it herself. Human are all confused before they come back to their real propose of their creation. Before they come back to Their Creator, Allah. Does man think that he will be left neglected? (Al Qiyamah 75:36) Then did you think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?" (Al Mu'minun : 115) And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. That's a pretty shallow portrayal of God! If our only purpose in life is to worship a deity then that deity must have some serious self esteem issues. Surely s far more productive use of one's life is to develop one's self spiritual and to helo your fellow man?

She's read and heeded John 14:6, the same way every priest should have. If they did, they would know that she is right and merely quoting the very words of Jesus himself. Jesus said that He is the only one who can lead a person to God, the Father. The Roman Catholic Church, with their traditions and their installment of a Pope clearly contradicts Jesus' own words. You must know God through Jesus, not through a Pope or anyone else who claims to be his earthy "go-to" . The person or organization that claims to be that alternate route is a blasphemer.
