These videos are gettin excellent engagement. I love it! Always a fan. 🔥🔥🔥 I can't even pronounce half these dishes, haha. They always look so delicious though. You could create a whole channel off just local foods. Good review, TAPG! 😃🤙

1st time watching... Never heard of this place. You make me feel like I need to try it out. Love the char siu portion in the Managua. Hate it when it's mostly bread, so I definitely should check this place out! Thnx!

Yes!! If you love the char sui part of the manapua, you should definitely taste Sing Cheong Yuan!! They have so much filling in it. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!! 😀😀

I miss those Chinese treats. I always loved the baked manapua and coconut jin dui. I’m not sure why I didn’t eat the pork hash, but i now think i missed out. Fortunately i was able to get some of those treats from Sing Cheong Yuan when i visited last November. Now I’m hungry. Thanks for sharing.

I love manapua of all sorts and I really think Sing Cheing Yuan has some of the best!! And YES! You definitely need to try their pork hash!! It’s a little sweeter than I’m used to, but sooo good (and HUGE!) Thanks for watching and for your comments!!

Wow, those looked so good! All the items were much larger or more filled than I'm used to seeing. The manapua looked really delicious.

Their manapua is probably my favorite on the island! But yes, everything there is HUGE!! 😀

Interesting. the last time I tried their manapua - had mostly dough and not much meat!? Will have to try it again. Thanks!

Oh no! Sorry you had a bad experience with them! Hopefully you can give them another chance, because usually their manapua is really packed with filling!! Thanks for your comment!!

It looks amazing and it reminds me of like items from around the world. Great that there are different versions under different names. Not a big dumpling fan, but I guess I have never given it a fair chance. Nice video, love the manapua!

Hey Paulie!! Oh the manapua here was delicious!! I do think it’s my favorite on the island! Thanks so much for watching!! 😀❤️

My favorite manapua is from Times Supermarket Kamehameha Shopping Center kiosk; it's made by U-Choice In at Kaheka. The char sui filling is shredded and seasoned nicely. And no fat so far. And my favorite pork hash is by Island Manapua on Gulick in Kalihi. I'm partial to no crunchy stuff, so there's no crunchy water chestnuts in this one. They take it up to their location in Manoa also. Just a couple of personal choices.

Oh my goodness! U-Choice in Kaheka is one of my favorites as well, I’d say it was my second favorite behind Sing Cheong Yuan! I used to love the taste of Libby’s (so sad they closed) and Char Hung Sut was good, but little too much bun for me (and so sad they closed too.) I will definitely have to try the pork hash at Island Manapua!! Thanks so much for your wonderful comments!! Always love hearing about your favorites!!! 😀💗

Hey! Thanks for this suggestion! I actually do not care for manapua with chunky meat because sometimes you also get chunks of fat and gristle. Libby's was my favorite because even if there was fat and gristle. it was ground up really good! My one-stop place is Royal Kitchen for baked manapua, pork hash, char siu and roast pork. The char siu is not super red and not super sweet, but it does have a lot of the tasty (but bad for you) caramelized black charred parts!

@@spang9782 As I'm a Kalihi-boy, Libby's was my favorite until they closed...SAD! And growing up, I did go to Char Hung Sut, as that was my mother's favorite place, until they closed also. So if I have to do multiple stops, no problem. Although your suggestion of 'Royal Kitchen' sounds interesting. I might try their Minute Chicken Chow Mein. Which for now I'm getting from Au's Garden restaurant.

I know I’m weird and opposite man, just don’t like the filling. That being said, is there any manapua that has almost no meat? A manapua that maybe has a teaspoon of meat and the bun is sweetbread like? Bun is my favorite…
@TinyAsianPastryGirl22 күн бұрын
I have been to places where there was a lot of bun and very little meat. I used to love the bun at Char Hung Sut, but they had a lot of filling too. I really do like the bun too so I know what you mean! Thanks so much for your comment!!! 😀😀

You know, U-Choice in Kaheka is actually my second favorite!! I used to go there all the time, but I rarely get out that way anymore. I miss it. Thanks for your comment!!
