One of my favourite episodes Crafty, Akasha is very much an old head on young shoulders listening to her talk about life and everything else but what an amazing talent. Obviously has had a great upbringing musically and with a Mum in Nikki, was always going to be good but I don't think she knows just how good she is, certainly Kids In America is the best Singit Live cover that i've seen done (in my opinion) and the fact she picked holes in it, proves that theory. So well done on this vlog and keep up the good work.

To learn that Akasha is as smart and articulate as she is beautiful and talented comes as no surprise - but thanks, Crafty, for another great interview! And now I must add multi-talented to that list, especially since her painting reflects the memory of mom singing wile washing her hands as a young child. And let there be no doubt, Akasha's version of "Kids in America" is just perfect!

I know little about music theory but love things like "Behind the Sound" or Rick Beato's "What makes this song great". Once things are pointed out, I feel I "get" it and the relationship between that detail and the rest of the song. But, what do I know? I am an odd one that only - almost - tears up to the music of Richard Wagner and nothing else (that comes to mind). Anyway, subscribed and will be viewing more older videos! As far as Ms. Starr is concerned, she may not be an 80's child. However, her free spirit channels the free spirit of those singers, songwriters, and songs perfectly. Almost effortlessly even if she self-criticizes a lot (don't we all). The interpretations of SIL are terrific and I love the extra touches given where each song is a cover yet with its own nuances on it. Like classical music where we can hear a Beethoven symphony interpreted in so many ways from simple beat keepers like Toscanini to an amazing "I-don't-know-what-I-just-heard" of a Wilhelm Furtwangler.

1) Charlie sounds more sophisticated that Kaishy. 2) I think you nailed it with the comment about confidence. Akasha is immensely talented and much of it can be attributed to genetics and environment but one thing that just stands out is her level of confidence. She seems to have a natural ability to adapt and fit in the musical pocket and make it look so natural and effortless. It would be really cool if there is an opportunity to have Nikki, Akasha, and Jaylena sing together on a song.

In what you said Crafty about the Go-Go's being the only all female band to date to write their own songs and play their own instruments and have an album go to #1, if anyone has a chance to match that record, it will be a band called The Warning. If anyone reading this doesn't know who they are, stop right now and go listen to ANY of their songs from a live performance last year at The Pepsi Center in Mexico City. I think you'll see what I mean. Awesome and interesting as always Crafty.

Confirmo. Alejandra, Daniela y Paulina Villarreal Velez. Las tres hacen en igual medida los vocales, y son muy buenas instrumentistas. Y estoy seguro de que tocan con pick, la guitarrista de seis y la de cuatro cuerdas. Jeff estaría inquieto.☺️ And she sing in English, that is the international idiom. It sounds better than the power trio Beck Bogert Appice. But I want to say, too, that I 'd love hearing them on something tender and soft, like tender and soft women ❤

Belinda Carlisle has been in the Go Go’s (as lead singer) from 1978-2022, with some breaks for solo projects, (from 1985) and the band breaking up, restarting, breaking up, rinse and repeat en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Go-Go%27s The Go Go’s break out song, was “we got the beat”, #2 in the US Top 100, beaten to the top spot by Joan Jett and the Black Hearts “i love rock n roll”.

Nice breakdown for us nerds :-) Now I know why that bass line seems familiarly cool, but it stands out more as a neat lick in the Belinda Carlisle, maybe because it's a bit out of character compared to the rest of the song. I found an ok comparison on YT just for fun kzbin.info/www/bejne/pX-0fHiqpt6Gqc0 . I did not know about her with the Gogos either, although I did know of the band. That backing vox run is subtle but provides a "hidden hook" that I can't unhear, lol - almost makes it feel like a Bm over G rather than the major 7th (that thing you don't play for your friends saying "Hey, listen to this really cool interval...!" ) . Anyway, thanks for this, really cool as usual! Cheers!
