it is working very well. The difference is Singapore doesn't spent all the tax dollar money on weapons. US gives money to buy more weapons and nothing goes back to the people or even healthcares. Singapore pays you to have babies and even a yearly one time money given by the gov to the people. Everyone has a job in Singapore

Littering is only punished with a fine. If you get caught again, you pay a bigger fine and wear the shirt of shame, with ostentatious label “Corrective Work Order” written on your back, while you pick up litters in crowded places like parks and outside shopping malls. We don’t cane people for littering, that is excessive violence for petty crime.

Singapore has strict laws on littering of any kind. First-time offenders face a fine of up to S$1,000. Repeat offenders will be fined up to S$2,000 and subject to Corrective Work Order (CWO). The CWO requires litterbugs to spend a few hours cleaning a public place, for example, picking up litter in a park.

Not a slippery slope as you can make it into a multi stage analysis. Trevor fails to mention, and for those that don't know it, Singapore is about the size of Houston, Texas with a population of less than six million. It also is quasi socialism, and one has less overall freedoms we have here in the US. All that babying by the government comes at a price. Also they have capital punishment for narcotics trafficking. Caning for minor offenses. Some people refer to Singapore as Disneyland with the death penalty. Everything is relative. Trevor there should know that. His homeland of South Africa is on the verge of becoming a failed state in many ways. That's why the dude hauled butt here to the US and has been playing wannabe comedian and getting rich for it. In Singapore, there's medical welfare for all regardless of race as long as one qualifies for it. Of course, household income, assets owned etc is part of the criteria you have to declare so as to prevent funds from going to people who can afford medical healthcare out of their own pockets but faking they can't.

Singaporean Malay here. I'm just here to inform everyone that whatever this person said in regards to the Malay community here is inaccurate The statement about healthcare is more accurate though. The government heavily subsidizes our healthcare bills and also regulates pricing of medication and procedures which is then charged to every person equally regardless of race. Only foreigners have to pay more but it's still pretty cheap. A regular visit for the flu might cost locals 12-25 SGD in a government clinic and about 25-40 in a private clinic. Also we have the Central Provident Fund system in place where a portion of the money you earn goes into a medical emergency fund for yourself or family members. So as long as you've worked a full time job for a year, you're pretty much covered on most minor medical procedures thus, the purpose of insurance in Singapore is more of an added bonus, a luxury you could say, rather than a necessity. Though there are some rare individuals, we generally don't politicize race here in Singapore. There's poor Malays, there's also poor (insert race). Are Malays at a disadvantage due to the system? No. In fact we're the only exception to the rule, we get free education till secondary level because we're considered indigenous. So please reassess your need to include Singapore into your agenda because if you've not yet noticed, we call ourselves Singaporean (insert race) because we understand that we're Singaporean first, race/ethnic identifier second. I hope you're able to broaden your horizon a little and approach an issue in a more holistic view. Problems pertaining to people are never isolated in nature and as a fellow human being I hope you understand that your every action no matter how insignificant affects someone else too. Have a good day sir. Wash your hands and stay safe. Edit: Forgot to mention. Insurance here is really cheap by the way.

Singapore population consists of 75.9% Chinese, followed by ethnic Malays (15.0%) and ethnic Indians (7.5%), 1.6% consists of those classified as "Other" or are Eurasians. The Malays r treated better than local Chinese~Singaporean Malays get free education up to university, whilst all other pays subsidised public schooling. Also, the Gov has the minorities of the Malay organisation (MENDAKI) & the Indian organisation (SINDA)~ to encourage/monitor their students to improve and perform better academically. The Chinese is influenced by Confucian Ethics whereby “Education” towards betterment of lives always strives harder. Henceforth, the lower income has higher % of minorities on poor paying jobs. However, these lower paying jobs has Medisave as a medical insurance. MediSave, a national medical savings scheme, helps cover out-of-pocket payments. Personal and employer salary contributions (8%-10.5%, depending on age) to MediSave accounts are mandatory for all working citizens and permanent residents. These tax-exempt, interest-bearing (currently 4% to 5%) accounts can be used to pay for family members’ health care expenses.1 MediFund is the government’s safety net for needy Singaporeans who cannot cover their out-of-pocket expenses, even with MediSave. Also, all Singaporean Chinese 1st born male must be a soldier (SAF)if physically fit~ whereas as Singaporean Malay can opt for non combatant; Singapore Police force (SPF) or Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) as part of National Service conscription for 2 years.
