Thank you for this. This was my mother’s first machine that was gifted to her by my grandparents. I recently have learned to sew and she has passed it down to me as my first machine. Just had it serviced and now I’m ready to go on it! I have her to help me with questions, but this video will be helpful especially when I’m trying to figure things out on my own.

Hi Pamela. Thank you for making the video. Its been so helpful. Had no idea that you did not have to bring the thread up from underneath before sewing. You just put the thread to the side and started sewing perfectly. Will give that a try. Thanks.

As long as your take up.leaver is up the machine will pull the thread thru.

Thank you. I have the same machine, bought it when I got married in 1975, and still use it. It's been acting up lately, and I've been researching to see if I can trouble-shoot my problem. Might be I'm using the wrong needle. It's a great little machine! I've never used the custom plates for decorative stitches. I might try that now after all these years!
@mrs.pamelar.martindbacastl9114 жыл бұрын
It could be your needle is dull or bent. Also try rethreading the machine.

Thank you for helpful information regarding tension! You are right! Keeping it at between at 4 & 5 is where it needs to be! That made a big difference and corrected my problem! My other problem making my stitches larger! I tried changing the sizes by round knob as normal but I don’t see a big difference between stitches? Any tips? Thank you! Gail Texas

Hi Gail. Thanks so much! Tensions normally stays between 4 and 5 so change it slightly then try again. Often times re-threading helps too,.

Hi Mrs Pamela. This is such a detail video and I got this machine 2 days ago from a friend grandma. I’m totally new at this, no idea how to thread it and thing called bobbin 🤣. Don’t even know that the bottom of the machine needed a bobbin with thread. After watching your video, I’m better but realize that it’s missing the stick that hold the roll of thread. Where can I order that?? Or I can use any stick I guess 😔. Thank you again. So happy I found you because my machine is exactly the same as yours. 👍
@mrs.pamelar.martindbacastl9114 жыл бұрын
You can order thread holders on ebay and Etsy. You may also use a spool caddy.

Thank you so much for this tutorial!! 😍😍 This evening I was practicing the buttonhole stitch which I literally just discovered. And I’m starting to get good at making the stitches. I did not know how to loosen the wheel so it was great that you showed how to loosen the wheel when threading the bobbin. My machine was given to me by a wonderful lady friend of mine it belong to her grandmother and it’s my very 1st sewing machine. 😎 but it has only one cam for the little designs. Where could I get some more? Thank you again.

That's wonderful news, Judy! Thanks so much for your kind words! I have some extra cams for a touch and sew but not sure if they would work with this machine. Keep practicing and happy sewing! Try Etsy for those cams.

@mrs.pamelar.martindbacastl9115 ай бұрын
Should be a knob to turn. If not, the light might be in the cord.l Some machines turn on with the cord. In that case the light is on when the machine is on. Look at the plug ins for your machine. If you have the kind I'm speaking of the cord will say "light" on one plug. Hope this helps.

Hi Allison, did you get your machine repaired, if so, what was wrong with it? Reason am asking is that I was sewing with mine today and it also made loud bang and the thread was caught up in the bobbin. But up until that time, it was sewing just fine. So not sure what caused the issue. Thanks
