You could call it symbolic on multiple levels; The song "Fade to Black" did indeed do so, and what's more.... the best part was ended too soon, "cut short", which plays to the lyrical content. Get a little deeper with it and you realize that the 'protagonist' is in the midst of beauty (the song) and yet cannot see it; he was gone before the best section started. Message? Subconscously, stick around on this planet and see when things get better!

The band's gear was stolen early in their career, nearly ending it before it could get going and the depression from that is what inspired James Hetfield (the singer and rhythm guitarist) to write the words. I can play the acoustic guitar parts that go along with the singing with my eyes closed but the intro guitar solo is very difficult to get right and more technical than it sounds. The solo at the end has some technical bits beyond my skill level as well.

Classic never get old. But are you listened finnish quartet-band Apocalyptica? They playing Metallica songs on 4 cellos without vocal (legal covers). Sound very classical, I recomend, "Apocаlyptica Nothing Else Matters" and "Apocalyptica Unforgiven" (may with reaction?)
