As much as "Ghost Love Score" is the usual first recommendation, I'd go with something else, like "Dead Boy's Poem" or "Storytime" or even "Greatest Show on Earth" 🥰

The book is The Name of The Rose by Umberto Eco. It is a powerful novel but not easy to read for some, but well worth it in my opinion. Like you say our knowledge and science have advances. So has our ability to kill. It is our wisdom that has failed.
