Hi Tom/Craig...greetings from Dublin, Ireland (we get mandarin oranges in our stocking here too!)...just wanted to say happy holidays and a massive thanks for this great series of videos from the Singer's Clubhouse... The VL3 really is the gift/box that keeps giving...and it's certainly not just for Christmas....every day I find another feature that I love...and now I know how to hook up my Behringer UMX Midi keyboard too..opening up even more incredible options. Please keep the tips, tricks, presets and upgrades coming. Great to see you guys enjoying Guinness and Baileys too... Here's to even greater sounds in 2016... Peter

Does the voice live rack have the same capability of playing midi live to guide the harmony?

Hi Tom and Craig,...I just got my NEW VoiceLive 3! I bought primarily to do Midi Harmonies (as in this video) I'm having trouble with the overall setup.and the manuals are not much help. I am a keyboard player so none of the guitar stuff interests me. (wished TC was still making the Harmony-M) Thanks!

Congrats Jim! If you go into the setup menu and set "Global NaturalPlay" to MIDI, then go to the MIDI page and set your channel and any filters or split points you want, your incoming MIDI will guide harmonies on every preset they're active on. For direct control of the harmony voicing, you'd want to use MIDI Notes Harmony styles that you can choose in the Harmony edit menu .

That sample in 'Lean On' by Major Lazer, sounds like the vocal effect that David Bowie used in his 'Laughing Gnome' song.

Just a caveat; there are only 4 voices of polyphony (a 4 note chord) on the VoiceLive 3. The earlier VoiceLive Touch can sound out 8 voices, which makes keyboard chord voicings richer.

That is true yep. We found that so few users were using 8 notes that we didn't focus on it in VL3. Perform-VK can still do 8 voices.

Is this available for the Voicelive GTX?

+Mark Sacto There are some Notes harmony styles at the very end of the list. You can control them with MIDI. It's 2 voices instead of 4 like the VL3 offers, but definitely still can be done. The Major Lazer example Craig gave isn't as easy because you'd have to use the global Lead Mute to get rid of the lead voice, which would affect all your presets.
