Song was originally just a poem she wrote, then later got a melody and turned it into a song.

Taylor Swift is a rabbit hole. Listen to her, and you'll become a full blown swiftie. Come on in! The water's fine!

I think Taylor Swift is fascinated with all aspects of love. Her endless attempts to put those moments we all experience into words.

Have you listened to Taylor's album 'folklore'? if not, it's a must!

Hey I am an OG Taylor fan and she is the not the only one writes about that. A lot of male singers write about that a lot more and they don't get called out on it. We are just tired of the blatant double standard here.

So so true!!! Only female artist are called out on it, she talked about it a lot in interviews, I wish more ppl would understand

Absolutely Richard! Only reason I mentioned it in the video is because of the fact that unfortunately she’s “known” for that style of writing (which is totally wrong, as you said above) but in songs like this she proves she can write great love songs as well! ☺️

@@BradSteele there are more than this song. Many songs that are not about break ups.

Also that is the media lies that tried to bring her down.

This was one of Taylor's most underrated songs, the original on her channel had less than a million views somehow! I'm so glad she gave this version a solo release essentially as a single for her version of 1989 because now so many people are finding this song for the first time!

poetry at its finest ❤ her lyrics are poetry, specially in Folklore and evermore, her Pen game is untouchable. same as Lorde. please react to her stuffs too

This is one of my fav songs from Taylor and defo underrated! I knew you would love it which is why i clicked as soon as I saw this video! Most of her singles are ‘’mainstream friendly’ but if you dig deeper into her other songs on each albums, they’re absolutely amazing and explore emotions and relationships on a deeper level. (Also her folklore album is basically her singing in her low range!)

I have always liked Taylor Swift, she has such great messages in her songs, though I have never been big on current country music. I do like country western and western songs.

well, if someone really listen to her, a lot of her songs it's not only about breakup

This song is only a "change" from her "breakup songs" for people who don't actually listen to Taylor except what they hear played at the mall & the BS the media/haters constantly spouts about her songs. The double standard is so irritating. Even the Leonard Cohen song Hallelujah is, at it's core, a breakup song! I wish people would stop even making that a talking point when it comes to Taylor. She had always been a remarkable storyteller writing about her life experiences as well as others ie: cancer, double standards, bullying, her love for her Mom, murder, mental illness, greed, war, practicing medicine during the pandemic, the loss of a child...i could go on, but I think I've made my point. I think I'll go listen to Bruno Mars song Grenade-have you heard it? It's about a rough breakup...but nobody said anything about it🙄
