I'm not sure Avi ever changed, this is just him that we never got to see i think. This is what comes from him when he's letting his emotions pour out. I love all his new music. You have to react to the Summit. Otherside is my meditation, and The Summit is my get my day going. love it too.

Yes, When you think that he wrote 60 songs in one year after he had a chance to decompress, I think it makes you realize what a serious composer and musician he is. He will be working on producing that music for years and is still writing more. It's astonishing to watch.

alma petry - and like most work by artists, a lot, even the majority will not be that great and it will never see the light. But 60 songs in two years or so, shows he was stifled as a musician. I like ptx, but they really focus on pop, more than anything. And clearly avi was ready for something deeper.

I saw him way back when singing his originals and playing the guitar and knew then that he really had something. I think it's something he can't help. I think he's one of those people who simply have to create and I hope with all my heart he has a happy life now.

Okay! Now my watching your reaction comments. The background vocals are all him, just like “Change On the Rise” and I also love all the work he is doing now. He did a couple of side projects while in Pentatonix, but could never focus on it the way he does now. His centered creative genius brings me joy. He just released an audio only video a day or two ago. It is also amazing. I know it is your preference is to also have video for a full reaction experience. I believe it would be like the Pentatonix “Over the Rainbow” where the music is so amazing it is just fine without visuals

Sehe ich genauso. Es gibt halt "Musik"... und es gibt M U S I K. Beides hat seine Daseinsberechtigung. Die eine Sorte hört man nebenbei beim Staubwischen oder Autofahren, und man singt mit und genießt sie. Und die andere Variante ist für den Ohrensessel plus Kopfhörer oder als Einschlafritual nach einem mehr oder weniger gelungenen Alltag. Keine Frage, wozu Avis Songs gehören!

Avi hasn't changed at all. This was always inside of Avi, but the nature of PTX meant he would never get a chance to get this incredible music out to the world. There were other factors involved of course, but this was one of the issues that led to his departure from the group. It was, indeed, the best thing that could have happened to all parties involved. I know that Avi & Kevin still remain very close friends and the other group members miss him intensely (probably one in particular), and he misses all of them, but it can no longer be denied that this was the right thing. PTX has moved on quite nicely with Matt, and now we have this new and incredible solo artist Avi Kaplan gifting the world with his incredible music.

I think rather than occasionally singing this sort of song with Pentatonix; Avia is now able to focus on his style of music where with Pentatonix most of his work was bass tones and the bass singing for the songs; which left little room for his own style of music.

Back in the late sixties and early seventies this would have been considered folk music sliding into the Hippy movement. These days this look would be considered tree hugger music. All that aside. Just taking it for what it is, we need more of this sort of thing. Its just really good.
