I have a very unique voice in the sense that I have a relatively deep speaking voice but prefer singing light in the rock tenor range ala Plant, Klaus Meine, Sebastian Bach, Rik Emmett, Halford, Michael Kiske and Dokken. Range is F#2-C6 and my break points are generally around A4/B4 AND D5/E5. One of the main things I'm looking to improve is consistency with closed vowel sounds (ee, ooh). Also tonal consistency through these break point as I don't have a noticable flip anymore but can either get really bright and heady around D5 ala Halford or dark and covered ala Dickinson and Kiske. The main problem is once I'm in one mode, I have a hard time switching back and forth.

i used to have big hooty head vouce like Patti LaBelle until i started focusing on my chest and mix(?) is there a way to have big meaty chest, mix AND hooty head voice?

Of course. Learn to produce all three coordinations and then pick and choose as you wish.

I'm a bass (D1-Bb5 vocal range) and have about the same break point (passaggio) and find this VERY tough to do. My problem, my voice wants to do the bass creak when transitioning to head voice.

D1-Bb5 is a really great range, but I do understand the struggles of ironing out the passaggio. @@EliPrinsensHVTVocals, I am actually getting better at the subharmonic technique which has given me nearly another octave. Problem being, it's not always there, so I don't count it. Just the same as I have used whistle notes up to D7, but I don't count them because of how erratic they can be.

So do tenors have the same passaggio as baritones?

While it varies from person to person, on average, a tenor's passaggio is a whole step above a baritones.
