Single dosing with Ceado E6P and Bulletproof Espresso on Profitec Pro 600

Quick video on how I'm single dosing with the Ceado E6Pv2 Grinder while I make a Bulletproof coffee (espresso) on the Profitec Pro 600.
No cuts or edits in this one so grind times and other things are all accurate for time.

to reduce staleness, maybe consider sealing your hopper with paraffin wrap and then add the lid and add a small weight on top if the lid doesn't fit? Just a thought.

Thanks for the video! I understand how Profitec and ECM are essentially the same company, but I'd still like to ask if you'd know whether or not an ECM portafilter (with the angled handle) would work with this Profitec Pro 600 machine?

Sebastian W ECM and any 58mm portafilter should work fine. I have an aftermarket 58mm blank basket portafilter that is angled have no issues with it so all should be good.

Hi man! So i believe the reason why the grinder is so temperamental is because the grinder is designed to about half way full all the time, so when it starts falling under that or just its starts being really inconsistant, i say this because i have been thru a whole hopper before and u can see immediately Right after say the second or Third shot how it starts being inconsistent with the grind quantaty, anyways just my two cents, i will be si single Dosing and see if that fixes The inconsistency issue, great video

A guy from ceado said single dose machines are configured differently from regular. It’s more than just removing the hopper. There’s a dedicated set of burrs for that and the grinding chamber is configured differently as well. Have you noticed any issues single dosing?

naomi L Oh yeah, no problems at all! The dedicated single dose grinders start at about $2500 but I’m sure they are a little bit better however mine seems to be working flawless. The main difference I would think would be grind retention which the way I do it there’s hardly any. I think the 6P makes a very good single dose grinder. Ceado may not say that as they have an interest in selling they’re super expensive single-dose grinders lol. When do you think about it grinding beans is grinding beans it all grinds into the Portafilter. But with single dosing you’re just limiting the amount of beans and grinding them all. If Ceados Hopper was more airtight I might leave them in there but it’s so big that if I fill it up it seems like they would get stale. It’s also been so easy to just measure a shot glass or 18.5 g of beans, dump them in the hopper and grind them all. My drinks have been much more consistent since I’ve been single dosing and weighing the output also at 45 g.

I take a daily multivitamin and practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but not sure it makes me smarter lol, helps keep me in shape though! I eat pretty low-carb also so i'm probably in ketosis from time to time. They say you get less brain fog when the brain uses ketones for fuel.

To improve single dosing with any Ceado Grinder including your Ceado E6P, or for any Ceado 37S, you could use a Ceado mini hopper with a bean weight from Orphan Espresso combined with an Aspectek Insecticide blower to blow through grind powder and to essentially eliminate retention. You light handed with the mct oil like someone who’s made the mistake of using too much 🤢. I’m between the E5P and E6P, do you think the extra for the timed dosing with the 6 is worth it?

To be honest, since i'm single dosing I'd be just as happy with the 5p. If you are ever going to be timed dosing then the choice is easy. If your not doing drip coffee and just sticking to espresso shots the I'd highly recommend single dosing with either unit. Need a scale to do it right tho.

Those Acaia coffee scales are so over priced. A $20 scale from Amazon will measure just as accurate.

Wow, lol! My usual drink lately has been straight espresso and a little cream. I do like a variety though and others have different drinks also. The candy bar latte I made up with the syrup is good enough to make you want to immigrate here. But I understand it’s wrong and not how it’s supposed to be used. Sorry about that and I apologize on behalf of all Americans. After realizing my errors I have tossed out the espresso machine and am now using a $14 Mr. Coffee Machine for a better fit. Haha just kidding, cheers mate!

Uh-oh. Caught by the espresso police again lol :p Disclaimer: I’m not a professional barista by any means, I own an IT company so more of a network engineer I suppose. Single dosing in my limited terms meant that I grind one serving at a time, nothing more. It sure beats stale beans and has been working great! Weighing the output of the grind? Not that anal about a gram or two. The distribution tool seems to show its pretty consistent each time. They all taste great so... lol. Our garbage disposal/ sewer system is fine (I do now dump the puck in the garbage) but it’s a garbage disposal, I put meat, old food and god knows what down there and I’ve never ever had an issue, I always rinse it down thoroughly afterwards anyway As far as mixing espresso with water, butter and oil.... well I was making bulletproof coffee so.... lol. For the clean-up. We do have a dishwasher that those items go in after rinsing them off. As far as getting help... I’m all game for finding someone wise like yourself to help me live a better life than I’m already living. Gotta warn you though, it’s been a pretty great one so far :p Keep up the good espresso policing, stay safe out there and take care my friend!

I'm not in the butter and coffee team either but the espresso police is just ridiculous😂 they'd bet their first-born child that they can taste the difference between shots with a difference of 0.3g

@Computer Pro ​@Skiontes Two of my remarks were just general hygiene, not espresso specific, to which I would add the third, putting the portafilter straight into the sink and then rinsing the blending container in it. As for the 0.3g, it's up to 0.5g on my single dosing conical burr grinder so I would imagine it might be considerably more on a non tilted flat burr non single dosing grinder, but that's why you weigh the ground dose. Anyway, don't post public videos expecting praise only.
