Those are my favorite. So sweet I have them before breakfast while watering early on summer mornings trying to beat the heat. A great pepper, I grow them every year.

Last year's Single Seed challenge was a Datil pepper. I'm overwintering that as we speak. For this year will be the Thai dragon challenge!

I have seeds I started indoors in starter pots and starter mix, which is supposed to be "sterile". I planted thyme in some of them, so far the thyme is not up yet; however, there is one seedling that is NOT thyme nor anything else I planted. I don't know for sure yet, but it looks like a baby morning glory? I have morning glories that I like, but they are not indoors. I have no idea how to put up videos here.

This is such a great idea. I'm out for this year as we have just moved and I'm starting from scratch except for a few rescued plants and some sad-looking fruit trees in pots. This will be a building year for me. Throw in the fact that you're hitting Spring and we are heading for Fall here in Australia. Next year I promise.😊

Good choices, I am growing so far one poblano pepper (first time), and my favourite cherry tomatoe from the past has been the black cherry tomatoe.

Hey there Mr Scott! I believe you tried doing a fish pepper last year if my memory serves me right. I might actually participate this year, we shall see. lol. Have you ever tried bottom watering? That's the method I use for my starts because I usually forget to water (oops).

Glad to see a video from you Scott. I tried to do the single seed last year, on Instagram and even picked out an interesting flower to try, adding flowers has been a focus for a few years. Unfortunately for me I picked the single hardest flower I could, Vinca, apricot color. I couldnt get it to germinate, and the seeds were specs. After looking into it, they needed to be surface sown, and germinated in the dark. After trying it three times I gave up. The closest I got was one super leggy seedling because it shot up overnight. I may give it a go as I still have seeds, but I also have another flower, Five Spot, to try as well.

Oh wow it’s time already lol, without thinking I sown one seed it’s called Arroz con pollo it was a gift, so I have one seed that I want to grow, I guess I will call it my single seed challenge ❤

Thats awesome!! I hope you and all of us have a great growing season this year. The past few years , my single seed challenge has been pepper's, both of which earned a spot in our regular garden. This year, i went with the Black beauty tomato and they have germinated. They look a bit leggy , not sure of why , the light has been real low and i have been using a small fan. Thats alright though because they will be planted down further. As always , a pleasure to see you

I'm glad to see the challenge is back. I don't do videos, but my single seed challenge this season is a cut flower lisianthus. Boy its a slow grower definitely a challenge seed will learn a lot this year. Its 12 to 14 week grow inside before planting out & will be the size silver dollar. Little too late to video as started them 1/2/24, not to mention seeds so small hard to see.

I am excited to do this challenge again but have a question. I want to grow the Chinese winter melon. Could I plant more seeds but just focus on ONE seed to follow its progress from seed to hopefully harvest? Thanks!
